Does WATE know or care what actually happens there?
WATE knows what the Village does, Bob Pegler has informed them for years. Which means they are (were) absolutely clueless. My wife and I counted six commercials for Covenant Health-related facilities within an hour during WATE's prime time. WATE are right-wing, conservative media whores who know damned well who butters their bread. I had a dialogue going with WATE's "investigative" reporter Lori Tucker, who wanted to interview our family to get "the other side, since Ms. Tucker claimed she had never heard anything negative about PV. A friend who knew the situation said Tucker must be a "shitty" investigative reporter, a simple Google search brought up a library of PV's abuse and deceit. WATE scheduled time with us to do pre-interviews and review my daughter's medical files, which no one thought was acceptable. Ms. Tucker kept referring to PV's McLain and Pegler as
Adam and
Bob, which set off our air horns. WATE refused to allow outside psychiatric opinion in the piece, even refusing to allow a local member of ASTART a chance to discuss the the TTI as generic whole. Everyone's gut said "this will be a hatchet job for the family and a knob polishing for the Village". Our interview would be chopped up to keep the ugly truth hidden, and Bob Pegler would prepare and film a rebuttal calling my kid's treatment an "exception" and "reassure" everyone that the Village "isn't like other places, we got licenses that cost a lot of jack". Strange that Bob Pegler has no State licenses, only his bought-and-mailed "certifications".
We bailed on WATE. Lori Tucker and I wrote to each other a couple of times afterward - I had the privilege of telling her about Adam McLain and Steve Petty getting terminated, and she said someone was "ripping her to pieces" on the WATE forum about PV. When the PV discussion got too hot, WATE did away with the forum entirely. That shows how in bed WATE is with the Village - they share the same style of dealing with unpleasant truths. They delete documentation and facts, then take away the troublesome individual's access to be heard. Once they're sure the parent or survivor is silenced and can't respond, they go back to the party line of blind faith in the Village, occasionally launching attacks on the banished troublemaker. One mother posting on the PV Parent's forum criticized PV's misrepresentation of Bob Pegler as a state licensed Psychologist. She got a reply from Pegler himself, saying it was a webpage error, the mistake was only up for two weeks. The mom had done her homework and pointed out Wayback Machine's cached PV pages showed Pegler listed as a licensed Psychologist and health service provider for two years, not two weeks, and Pegler has never held a state license and no proof could be found to show Pegler had a degree in
anything, since he apparently never went to College. When the mother posted the factual correction, Bob demanded that the forum moderator ban the mother, calling her a "false parent" and a "CAFETY mole" who would spread misinformation and grow increasingly "obscene" if she wasn't banned with a quickness. Once the concerned mom was kicked off the forum, Bob once again labeled her a "false parent" and demanded blind faith in the program from the other parents.
"False parents"? An unethical and deceitful leader who demands blind idiot faith from his sheep and excommunicates blasphemers and doubters before going full-on Torquemada... Oh,
hell no nothing cult-like about the Village.
At the psychiatric rehab center for teens in Louisville called The Village, the sound of a horn can be heard several times a day. It signals when someone is misbehaving.
LOL...at least the Village now admits to using air horns during restraints, but they don't identify who is "misbehaving" - staff or patient? Air horns go off at the Village when survivors and angry parents are on the Village property, filming while setting off the loudest PV-style horns at the worst possible times for the program - like graduation, State inspections, parents visitation days...Bob P. knows those angry horns. The staff shit themselves, too, because the horns are forbidden when "visitors" are at the Village.
