Many parents were trying to keep their kids out of jail, and a psych hospital had a lot more stigma attached to it than a "rehab" - especially a non medical rehab where the time spent disappears.
It was a case of "best intentions..." combined with the drug hysteria etc.

The court (in my case) looked quite favorably on my time on the program, can't say what the outcome would have been otherwise;

It has probably been said before, but there is a certain irony that in AA, you are always considered an alcoholic, even when sober .

All of the staff "leaders" that I encountered were drug users so I guess that means that we were being administered to by other druggies.

I never responded well to the arguement that we could not have connections to people on the outside unless they were involved with the Seed.

Wouldn't that be construed as "new druggie friends"?

It was all very fucked up and twisted , no matter how you rolled the dice
