Could someone please explain to me, how to upload an image? Tried several copy and paste, no luck (sorry a little just......)
Below the preview and submit buttons, etc, there is an "upload attachment" tab.  If you can't figure it out, let me know in PM and i'll send you a link to some documentation.

Is everything cool? I don't think the registration thing is a bad idea, really. Anyway you can't hide from them if they really want to find you...just like Charlie Manson said. I think bullshit racist threads should be deleted. Anyone who disagrees is worse than Hitler, and will be going to hell on a greased pole while Satan laughs his head off! On that note -- don't play cards with Satan, he'll deal you an awful hand!!!

Mmmm... there are some folk who will probably only post as Guest, and it seems a shame to lose them. I am thinking in particular of the Layne Meacham thread.  :D

The more I learn about this site and the function of this site, man..the more I realise I don't know. Cause and effect, cause and effect.
This I'm talking here about is "impact" on people and their ability to communicate.
Once again to the founders and admin supporters, I tip my hat to your diligents.                     :shamrock:

Psy,

I think this new rule will help clean up the site considerably.  I agree with the posters regarding the removal of racist threads, it really does not contribute to this site and does take a lot away from it.

I have noticed in recent days that the troll threads have significantly decreased, as have their individual posts.  I think many of us recognize that the trolls were doing most of the talking, and in their absence, we see less posts suddenly.  Now we see posts primarily from "real" users, which is the way it should be.

I understand that there are a lot of registered users who only post as guest, but I assume they can come back and create a non-Guest account and still post.  I feel a lot of those people were only here briefly and then left, so it shouldn't hurt anything.  If someone wants to post, they'll come back, change to a real user name and get involved.  No big deal.  A minor inconvenience to keep this site healthier.  I don't think for one minute it takes anything away from discussing or debating topics.  People don't need to post as guests.  They can create a legitimate name for themselves and stick with it, and like you said, it doesn't have to be their real name, so where is the harm?

If the last couple of days are any indication, trolls are having a much harder time spamming on Fornits now.  The racist threads suddenly stopped being added to, new ones stopped being created.  I think that is as it should be.  They are no longer controlling the discussions.

Well done.  I for one am happy to see some action taken to clean up the site and make it a safer environment for everyone.

I for one think that the volume of posts will drop off the map (initially) but the quality of the posts will increase dramatically and we will all realize a better discussion and debate, which I think we have seen since day one of the implementation.  I cant see where this change will drive away anyone who has something to say.  Registering a user name does not mean you have to release your identity or give up your anonymity.  The trolling and vulgarity were really starting to take over here especially in recent weeks.

The only thing I can think of to add is if it were possible to allow "guest" posting in a special forum which can be viewed by admins (customer Service) so that people can voice their concerns and let fornits relay information or questions about the safety of registering with this site…etc…. but if there were flooding or vulgarity, porn it would not show up in the main forum.
Over all I think this is a great move and I realize this was not an easy decision to make.

I think it vary professional and courteous, that you and Ginger take a position like that. Most people would discontinue things without any explanation. I thank you for being open and not Dick Heads on Power trips. We have all dealt with them.I was in Elan in the early 70s and one hell of a time. I have yet to find anything to top it even prison.I like this site because you can roam around and find your group and attitude you want to maintain. Some people like to love some want to hate, and that's their right.Elansurvivors group is and can be a good info site for anyone from any place. I have been trying to motivate that thought with another guy and its not easy. The site is dwarfed by sites like this and I think it has a hard time being seen. This site has great corridors to walk down and find almost anything, kind of like a big Wall-Mart for survivors. And I appreciate the chance to help find support for other sites like ElanSurvivorsgroup on this site. I by no means mean to intrude or ask for something out of turn, I find the people here helpful and motivating and just would like them to help stimulate some knowledge and wisdom on our site, and maybe find some old and new friends I guess I am humbly asking for guest speakers to come over and motivate. It takes as allot of you know allot of support and info. And not being in the same place means nothing. They were all the same type of place that's whats important. They all have that same Sembler,Newton aka Fr Cassian, Joe Ricci ,Marshall Applewhite,David Berg,Ken Emmanual, etc. the list goes on.I have said to others that there has to be a coalition against these places and everone targets each place as a group. And  on every victory we go to the next place and the next. And like allot of these self start groups. they can become very powerful and feared,And when your next on the list you pay attention. There are 1000s of us out here to do this and in the process can help each other,    Thank You For Time And Considerations LET'S DO IT      :rasta:  :rasta:  :moon:  ::unhappy::  ::unhappy::  ::unhappy::  :jamin:  :rocker:

Antigen,

This is a good move. I’d like to see more moderation here. All of the off-topic blather here should be able to be pruned fairly easily, and some of the manual spammers and the would be saboteurs (Whooter = John David Reuben) expunged altogether.

rick ross manages to moderate and not get stuck with legal liability for everything written on his site.

Not that I agree with either side of the debate on the following, but Rick Ross does censor quite heavily if somebody is expressing an opinion he does not like:
http://www.orange-papers.org/orange-rross_aa01.html

It's all fine and dandy until you're on the censored end.  I don't think it would ever be appropriate for this site to head in that direction.  You don't win arguments or debates by silencing the other guy.  It's intellectual sloth.

I have found that to be true in my humble opinion....orange papers are/is a good arguement.
Even though I do not agree I'm sure psy, with your experience and or opinion of AA/NA/CA..... RR does not
have the right to censor anyone for a different understanding.

Intellectual sloth.....very interesting....

I've split all the Elan discussion off into a new thread.  If you're going to discuss that, please do it there.  It's not fair to those who wish to read about or discuss the forum policies to wade through pages of Elan discussion which are more or less Chinese to those not familiar with the issue in order to find what they are looking for.
