it's not funny, there's nothing funny about this cult, Ursus. The Family is one of the most destructive and generally evil groups in all of American religious history, second only to the COS in terms of the damage done to present, second-generation, and former members. The Family is a cult in which the sexual abuse of children forms a part of the very core of their theology; it's basically a highly sexualized, quasi-Christian cult made up of of a bunch of fugitive pedophiles and their second-and-third generation kids leading the WS and CRO units. Do you realize that? And then you've got the "Loving Jesus" doctrine. Sickening. This cult is perverse in every sense, and Zerby and Kelly make me want to vomit.

At some point in the 1960s, David Berg switched from mainstream preaching to targeting "counter culture" people who were "searching" for something or, at the very least, were not rooted in the status quo or a staid routine. His favorite group was the hippies. His schtick / selling point was that mainstream culture, including mainstream church culture, was full of phoniness and hypocrisy.
