I never noticed the small print at the bottom before:

Phoenix Outdoor operates under a Special Use permit issued by the U.S. Forest Service in the pristine wilderness of the Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests.

The permit should be revoked.  Maybe the Forest Service would pull it if they were made aware of what happened at AEG's Sagewalk.  No one wants that kind of potential liability.

Phoenix Outdoor presents itself as "therapy":

Phoenix Outdoor is a licensed wilderness therapy program

But there are no licensed clinicians in the program:

What are the credentials of therapists working at Phoenix Outdoor? Phoenix Outdoor provides the highest quality therapy to its students and their families. Phoenix therapists have master’s and doctoral level degrees with a particular specialty in working with adolescents. Our staff includes individuals who are certified as addictions counselors both on the state and national level..

What are the field instructors' qualifications? Our field instructors have wilderness experience and a history of working with adolescents. All field instructors are trained in first aid and CPR, and our head instructors, who supervise the care of the students, are certified at the Wilderness First Responder or EMT level. The field instructors undergo a rigorous, multi-week training program conducted by the field and clinical departments, ensuring their ability to offer a high quality of service and care to students. They are required to complete criminal background checks and drug screenings prior to employment.

The therapists in charge of "treatment" aren't even licensed or named.  Phoenix sends these kids out into the woods, with no medical personnel involved in the program.
