My Website...
has been down for a little while but should be back up this afternoon. We moved and AT&T should be here later on today to hook me back up. I'll post the new link to the board once it's back up and running. I'm also thinking about moving the entire site to a 3'rd party hosting company that I work with so that it'll be more reliable as Mediaone isn't the most stable service I've seen but we'll see.

I'll check back in later on.

Websites and Cheesecake
Well, I lied. I guess it's going to be a bit longer than this afternoon since my street seems to be missing a certain box on the telephone pole. So we will wait and see when the almighty AT&T decides to hook me up with a descent connection.

As for your visit up here Sully, I'll definately be around both of those days. We could even take a swing by that other restaurant I mentioned to you in Burlington and see what kind of trouble we can get into. That would be a trip.

See ya,

Scott

Re: Websites and Cheesecake
Mediaone is bad, they run Channel One which basically gives televisions and vcr's to poor public schools in exchange for forcing their kids to watch 12 minutes of one sided psuedo news and a bunch of commercials.  There were even kids in Michigan who were arrested and suspended from school for refusing to watch it.

Slavish discipline makes a slavish temper... If severity carry'd to the
highest pitch does prevail, and works a cure upon the present unruly
distemper, it often brings in the room of it a worse and more dangerous
disease, by breaking the mind; and then, in the place of a disorderly young
fellow, you have a low spirited moap'd creature, who, however with his
unnatural sobriety he may please silly people, who commend tame unactive
children, because they make no noise, nor give them any trouble; yet at
last, will probably prove as uncomfortable a thing to his friends, as he
will be all his life an useless thing to himself and others... Beating them,
and all other sorts of slavish and corporal punishments, are not the
discipline fit to be used in the education of those we would have wise,
good, and ingenuous men...

"There were even kids in Michigan who were arrested and suspended from school for refusing to watch it."

What?!?!? I knew about the Channel One scam. I think the principal of Killian High had contracted that and there was some talk of improper money handling involved. It's a year+ old story. Here are some search terms Killian Nine, Killian High School in Ft. Lauderdale or Hallendale, I believe, an underground school newsletter called 'The First Amendment', death threat, arrest, ACLU.

-If there's a worse idea going than locking kids up for victimless crimes, it's probably locking them in close proximity to some tyrannical altruist bent on helping them even if it kills them.

the cable companies
i hate the cable companies. in the building i live in, i pay

over $40. for my cable. i get what i want, ESPN, ESPN2, FOXSPORTSNET, ESPN Classic, HBO... etc.

but all it needs to do is rain a little and it goes out.

what really upsets me is that everyone else in the building gets cable for free!!! they've just run the coax into their VCR's and TV's and bang! i've thought about calling and cancelling my service and cheating the company and hooking it back up for free, but i can't bring myself to do that.

call me old fashioned, but i can't bring myself to steal - not even something as stinking as cable!

who cares though. i will soon have dishes in my soon to be

million dollar home. i'll get every celtics game beamed in from the skies above. and i'll have several 38" TV's to watch any and everything i want. right now i don't even have a phone in my house. i just have a cell phone. i save over $50. a month that way.

i'm not a big fan of big companies anyway. but i have to do business with them to get by. i guess i like some big companies though... the cointreau company, the milagro company, guiness imports, phillip morris, and the boston celtics - NYSE ticker symbol BOS !!!!

Re: the cable companies
The only thing I like about my cable company is the new cable modem service. The rest of it just stinks. I used to consider stealing cable stealing, but now I figure, that if the cable company is sending signals through my home, I have the right to recieve them, afterall they are not paying me for the use of my property as a relay station for their signals. I do pay, but there is a good rationalization for not paying.

Homeowners associations suck, they made all my neigbors take their direct tv dishes down, and instead of individual service, they are making them all switch their subscriptions to a single local reseller who installed two dishes for the whole row. I can't believe we actually pay them monthly to send us letters of disaproval for everything from when we play our music, to where our newspapers get delivered.
