Is this not uglier then shit or what?

Dan, go back to doing what you do best.  Chronic masterbation to porn.  For the love of God, put down the fucking paint brush!  ::puke::

Inculcated:

--- Quote ---His watercolor, acrylic and print work add the dimension of abstract chaos vs. the minds natural tendency toward organization. The experience is like squinting your eyes to blur your focus and thereby capturing an essential truth.

I'm interpreting that to be an audience instruction. It does look a lot better when you squint. Though, it's completely unnecessary to advise that; as it seems an instinctual reaction to the display.
Deconstructing the gnarled nudes is troubling. Not in the thought provoking sort of way (of course not that), just that the whole art is subjective debate unravels in the presence of truncated torsos that are obvious, unimaginative middling interpretations of truncated torsos created by betters.
Whatever...

try another castle:
His sculpture is the funniest. Totally trite and cliche poses. He always fancied himself to be like Rodin. I think his stuff is maybe a hair above that painting of the unicorn crying in front of a polluting factory saying "Why?" (one of the funnier things Ive seen on the simpsons)

I love how that blurb on him says that his palette is infinite, then you look at his paintings, which consists of maybe one quarter of the color wheel.

Hey, man, its fine to work in warm, sepia tones, but don't be callin his palette infinite.

Anyway, I shouldnt pick. He's had a hell of a lot more shows than I have. The last group show I was in, the curator passive-aggressively turned off the lights above my work.

Guess they weren't too crazy about the fact that every single one of my paintings had at least one swastika on it, and most of them were attached to nazis in some state of undress.

Although I left the scene. I found that the only thing that I enjoyed about art shows was the free food and box wine.

(TAC: destined to live a life of quiet mediocrity, which suits him fine)

Anyway, back to Dan. His work is unbelievably pedestrian, and I hope to god he keeps doing it, cause its a hell of a lot better than what he was doing before.

Well, that’s true. “Twisting Fate” as an ugly art version of creating human wreckage is far better than the consequences of his applications  of the literal form.

RMA Survivor:
Considering that he watched so many of us in such a fetal position, I wonder if all of his creations are based on kids hunched over, looking pathetic and exhausted and weak.  And that he saw all of us, at least in his mind, naked.   Very disturbing painting.  I think it is missing a Kleenex box though.
