Where the fuck is the Senate on HR 911?
« on: July 17, 2009, 08:59:33 PM »
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-911

Last Action:
Mar 23, 2009: Subcommittee on Healthy Families and Communities Discharged.

This bill has been passed in the House. The bill now goes on to be voted on in the Senate. Keep in mind that debate may be taking place on a companion bill in the Senate, rather than on this particular bill. [Last Updated: Jul 12, 2009 8:58PM]

Yeah what the fuck companion bill is that, then?

I know, I know. Exterminate, not regulate. Regulation in this case is a step towards extermination. HR 911 is a chokeslam, pure and simple. We need this shit passed.

You don't want to offend the group think, that's why you put this disclaimer. Even though you know in your heart it's impossible to 'exterminate' programs, you still feel it necessary to make this intellectual concession to the extremists which inhabit fornits. You are willing to concede an obviously false idea to fit in with a collective. Sound familiar?

Feeling sad, bob? Be sure to add your name to the death list before you do it, mine as well blame it on the program.

Don't you LOVE it when a resident twit tries this?

News: They are exterminated already in many places around the world. The Czech Republic took one look at WWASPS, went "Holy USSR Batman!" and instantly banned the practice. They simply don't do this shit in the Third World (unless paid by Americans) and the Asians have such a completely different view of society that the entire concept of a program is wholly alien. Programs are exterminated in Washington State and the under-18 ones are regulated effectively out of existence in California. All Oregon has to do is pass a Washington State-like law and boom, there goes most of Aspen Educational Group, tossed out like the rest of the garbage. (Who lives in Oregon? Why have you not petitioned your representatives?)

With demand reduction ("We lose five kids a month due to negative publicity on the Internet"... HAHAHAHAHAHA) and increasing knowledge of the practice, as well as a deep undercutting of the miscreant 'values' that led this shit to be made in the first place, eventually this can be shriveled up back to Utah and finally removed entirely as the Mormons realize it's making their religion look even worse.

A few more sharp jolts to the economy also might do the job. It's amazing what rich white people will manage to do when they lose their feelings of entitlement. ("I'm entitled to have my children love me no matter what and I'll pay nearly a hundred thousand dollars a year for that! I deserve respect!")

I want to see it pass just to get the chance to watch Nutsack cry more. It was delicious the first time and it never gets old. The bill itself seems pretty worthless, but I'd never pass up a chance at enjoying some waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

The National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP) has learned from being blind-sided by Congressman
Miller in 2007. They are now becoming increasingly effective by aggressively presenting their perspective to Congress and the public.
As an example of a NATSAP activity, I just returned from a trip to Washington DC in mid-June where I participated with NATSAP
in presenting a positive perspective to the staff of several Senators regarding the Miller legislation. The Miller legislation passed the
US House of Representatives earlier this year and has been received by the US Senate for consideration.
In anticipation of possible Senate action sometime this year or next year, we talked with key staff of about a dozen Senators. The
representative of a Washington DC law firm was very efficient in setting our appointments and escorting us around the Senate Office
Buildings. The staff politely listened, with some already quite aware of some of the schools in this network. For others, this was the
first they had heard of this type of school and program.
With a similar exercise next month in Washington DC, NATSAP is aggressively making sure the Senators are aware of the need
for this network in serving the needs of parents and their children with problems and the dangers of draconian regulation.

Uh, this needs to be countered several times over, starting right now.

start writing letters give your bios
let them know whats really going and dont let the lobbyists win
there trying to save there cash cow like every lobby group in DC
Let your reps see the faces of the people that have been abused
let them know there are 100s of children and young adults being held in "programs" "for there own good"
Organize group trips to DC and help others that might not be able to affored getting there TO GET THERE
Let them know these places do not work and may make thinks worse for some
Programs must be held to the same standards as any other mental health clinic or hospital
proper licensing is a must; Staff background checks are a must; Staff must be head to the same standards as any staff in places such as schools and hospitals
these place must not let former addicts and felons be in places of power over clients

Well. The legality of Benchmark's operation, for example, is already very much up to debate.  What good would prohibiting something twice do?  The will to enforce the existing legislation and the existing licensing requrements is what is missing.  If you want to do something about Benchmark, contact the Cailifornia state dept of Alcohol and Drug Programs and tell them that there is an unlicensed program operating and that they should so something about it.  Like with Al Capone.  If you can't get them on the big stuff, take them out with the smaller stuff.  They've now dropped "school" from their name so they no longer have that defense anymore either.  Their marketing information also makes it very clear that it is very much a program.  It is NOT a sober living home (licensing exception) either as it does not fit the criteria for that.  If the state actually did their job, the place would be out of business.  I've already contacted them a year or so ago and they gave me a runaround...  After that I sort of gave up on the state to do their job, but by all means go ahead and try for yourself.  It can't hurt and given that the guy who gave me the runaround is no longer there you might be able to get somewhere.  I'll give you all the info and copies of the pertainant statutes.

Just contact me in a week when I'm back in Paris.  The internet access where I am now is not exactly as advertised.
