Art Barker, 87, founder of The Seed, a now defunct, and debunked failure of an experimental drug treatment program in the 70s and 80s, died of a gun shot wound to the head, an apparent suicide.

Art Barker is survived by his wife Shelly, and adopted daughter Lybbi Kienzle, both of Broward County, Florida. Shelly Barker was quoted as saying, "He was my best friend."
