Rapes happen in the military all the time. That is why fornits works hard to end the institutionalize abuse in the various military's around the world. Without fornits, many more rapes would occur, so why not donate some money.

Peter you never answered this question:

Peter would you consider testimony from a pro-hla poster to be proof, or are you limiting what constitutes evidence soley to the ORS report?

I take into account information from all sides.  I havent seen the ORS report.  I have read small pieces of what has been posted on fornits.  These small pieces have been paraphrased by a person who was and or still is in a lawsuit with HLA.  I dont think anyone would dispute that the information put out here may be biased based on this.  I have information from staff who have been pro and con to HLA and information from survivors who also were pro and con towards HLA.  So I am gathering a balanced perspective.

So in that case a pro-HLA poster acknowleding that we were placed on a starvation diet, and yes it was wrong, would in your mind constitute proof?

Of couse not.  If I said I had someone who was staff at HLA said it wasnt true.  Would you accept that as proof?  and then we could move on?

You would need to provide some sort of coroborating evidence that the person was indeed HLA staff, and tell us exactly who they were, and that instance then yes. Your pal Function Junction won't do.

So then under those terms would that constitute proof?

I would have to take the same position then.  your person wouldnt do either.  Seems we would need an independent agency who could report on the number of calories that were being presented to the students and then compare that to state requirements.

Can you meet that criteria with Function Junction? I can with my sources. Or is this just your way of once again avoiding the truth, because you dont like it?

I think you would agree that it would be best to have an independent agency verify what the calorie count was.. was the diet classified as low, extremely low, borderline malnutrition, or starvation.  What was the intent of the low calories.  Who approved the low calorie diet ... was it a systemic problem, school policy  or an individual staff member..etc. etc.

Do you see what I mean?

You can spin that however you like Peter, I truly don't care. What I'm talking about is someone verifing what we were actually fed. You can have all the third parties you like as far as whether it does or does not constitute a starvation diet. From the sources already provided so far though, it appears as though you've lost that argument already. But if it makes you feel better knock yourself out and find a source to verify if the amount of calories we were fed was healthy or not. I'm just talking about a pro HLA poster verifying the diet.

Do you see what I mean?

HLA staff member comment:

4. Work assignments involve splitting wood for elderly individuals who don't have enough money to always pay for heating and cleaning around campus most of the time. I'm not sure why and how having students do chores and actually allow them to witness the positive gratitude from the individuals receiving wood constitutes abuse. I grew up in a family where we all had to do chores around the house. Starvation isn't a part of restrictions, malnutrition isn't a part of restrictions. Kids on restrictions actually experience short-term consequences and are given freedoms back within the week most of the time. That's not the way the real world works. Consequences for disrespect or defiance can get you thrown out of school and possibly in jail. HLA kids can mess up and learn why rules are necessary for everyone.
