I find it morally reprehensible, not to mention blatant misappropriation of charitable funds(fraud), that the Chapel Funds were not "restricted" and co-mingled into HLA,INC.(non-profit).  The funds were 'gone' well before the class suit was filed and were not used to pay any legal fees.  There is no connection what-so-ever to Hidden Lake Foundation, Inc.- there never was.  Patrick Kennedy's family did not intend for donations upon Patrick's death, to go to 'a' personal slush fund, nor did any other donors.

Know that this is just a "complaint" filed to the IRS for a 501C3... for misappropriation of charitable funds, etc.  The  Georgia Secretary of States Office also handles complaints for 501C3'S such as HLA, Inc.  where the Chapel Funds went, un-restricted.

To file a complaint, please use this form – Form 13909 and follow the above instructions or go to www.irs.gov website

This is a suggestion to all in giving to a charitable foundation, no matter what it is.  Apparently now at HLA it is the "ConvocationCenter".  First, do not trust the messenger.  You can check on-line at  "Guidestar"  to see if a separate entity has be established for the funds, not just HLA, Inc.  You can also check to see if the charity is registered with the Secretary of States office as a separate entity.  IMPORTANT - RESTRICTED FUNDS -The funds should be restricted and 990's should be filed with the IRS,and provided under a different entity.  In this case, "The Convocation Center" request the 990's, 2008 for this year.  If you are writing a check out to HLA, Inc. the funds are not restricted, as was the case for the Chapel Fund.  If you wish to give to HLA, Inc. then it is no problem, but if you think you are giving to build a "Convocation Center, just be careful and do your homework.
