I was doing research for my psychology paper and came across something really interesting. To all you CEDU survivors that believed that CEDU was a cult, well, you were right. Mel Wasserman joined a cult called the Church of Synanon about a year before he founded CEDU. Below are some links for reading. Interesting, but fucked up.

not only was Mel a synanon member...remmeber DR. (got my Ph.D from a Crackerjacks box) Jim Powell?  Also a member of synananon.  he was a snake oil salesman to the parents at Charles E.  Diedrick U...running springs.  He and Brandi Elliot now have a "consulting" business...consulting to torture more children!

The New Zealand project lasted about 6 months...it is now closed.  who the hell would want to send their kid to New Zealand?  I guess Elliott and Powell et.al. will be looking for new meat locally.

Bringing Treatment Professionals Together

Parents as Partners: How to improve adolescent residential treatment through effective and increased parent participation.

Brandi Elliot

Brandi Elliot has been working with adolescents and their families for 15 years.  She is currently the Admissions & Marketing Director for Northwest Academy and co-owner of Powell & Elliot Collaborative, LLC.

Presentation Abstract:

This presentation will provide programs an opportunity to evaluate their current paradigm in regards to parent participation. By reviewing specific key indicators and gaining a better understanding of the parent perspective, programs can often increase and improve their parent engagement, support and understanding. Objectively and regularly evaluating parent support and understanding offers valuable feedback that can be used to develop participant curriculum, create staffing schedules and strategies, influence participant behavior and stimulate census growth. Utilizing specific examples, this presentation will offer programs ideas and tools for evaluating, tracking and monitoring their current programming and its effectiveness. Examples will include specific resources and best practices that can be immediately implemented and modified to fit their particular needs.

Is there a picture of this fucker from synanon? If so, how about making dart boards of of it and we can have survivors throw darts at his evil face! I bet those Mel Wasserman (I think that's how you spell it) dart boards would sell like hotcakes on Ebay. Or even better, a pinata to wack at.

For owners of such programs, we celebrate your lives being destroyed. Because you destroyed theirs...
