CADC Porter County
« on: September 28, 2008, 11:16:28 PM »
As the Fund Watcher that I am, I am curious to know how the Mayor of Valparaiso Indiana could give money to a "non-existent" non-profit organization. According to the paperwork, the CADC of Porter County there didn't even incorporate until August 13, 2007. Now, before conclusions are jumped to, there was another CADC run by the same man, Mann Spitler, III, and that one was administratively dissolved by the Secretary of State in Indiana in 2005. This almost sounds exactly like the situation with KHK in Ohio and TSDRCP, a "ghost" entity of KY.

BTW, Mr. Theissen said he was done with KHK several years ago. I guess he's changed his mind or someone is pullin one over? Terri? Care to comment?

This is just one example of the CADC there, remember, they supplied $100,000 to help PFC start up their little assessment office. Mann? Care to comment? We're all ears!!!  ;D FW

Excerpted from the Northwest Indiana Times
pwieland reporting
"Sunday, January 07, 2007

VALPARAISO | Proceeds from Mayor Jon Costas' annual Black and White Ball will help pay for things like uniforms for students in Kenya, the development of youth volunteer programs and maybe an upgrade of an electrical system.

Costas will announce Monday the donation of a total of $28,000 to four area nonprofit organizations: Alice's Inc., a halfway house for women recovering from alcohol and drug dependency; Kids Alive International, a Christian mission caring for orphaned and abandoned children in 15 countries around the world; Community Action Drug Coalition, a program dedicated to helping families of adolescents with drug problems; and Porter County United Way."

Then, later on down a ways...

"Mann Spitler, CADC board chairman, said the board will discuss the best way to use the money at its next meeting.

"We don't have a specific tag attached to it," Spitler said. "We depleted most of our finances with our commitment to bring Pathway Family Center here and give them enough seed money to get their process started, so we are rebuilding our treasury.""

Thanks fund watcher, great info.

I thought I read that Mann Spitler's daughter wasn't involved with PFC but died of a heroin overdose. Is this why he is so hellbent on drug treatment. Well if PFC actually treated drug addiction instead of delivering nervous breakdowns to kids in the name of treatment that would be a worthy cause. Poor guy.

On this site... http://pathwayfamilycenter.fornits.com/?page_id=7 there's a new story, just scroll a little. Now, if that program got all this money to open a new place, then how is it needing money to bring treatment back to Milford? Hmmm... this is quite perplexing  :wall:

They say they only do "assessments and marketing" in Cincinnati. I think what this means is that they keep the Cincinnati address on their site only to generate interest among Cincinnati parents.

If I have anything to say about it, we'll keep an eye on the Cincinnati facility to see if they try coming back. And if they come back, we will be back on them again like stink on shit.

Mertens says "hopefully" but I doubt she knows what PFC doesn't want her to know. She will probably be out of a job soon if she doesn't meet her assessment quota. It's all about the green.

Just more "PR spin".

Monica has a real cushy job right about now. Program Director of Assessment Services... She sits at home with her little beeper phone and when it rings, she calls Dana and yells out: "TO THE BAT CAVE!!"  :roflmao:  But the other times, she just sits there waitin and waitin. you know, what better way to suck in clients than to sit there at home waitin for a forwarded call? How many parents drive around looking for a rehab, like when they go to get pizza and "there's Pizza Hut" ? The phone book doesn't tell them about the real deal. Sure, most parents on the outside would probably frown at the prospect of sending their kid to Indiana, but look at WWASP. The parents willingly send their kids to all sorts of places across the globe.

If there was a way to alert these prospective parents going to the assessment in OHIO, that would be a big nail in the coffin. Aside from that idea of settin up a permanent type sign somewhere nearby, or newspaper campaign, or standing out there waiting and waiting, what other ways can you think of to minimize the effectiveness of this new situation? With a $4 Million budget, PFC could keep that property going for quite some time. I've heard they like to hit up churches, schools and clubs, etc...

Go to churches when they're letting out on Sunday, hand out some fliers. Go to the county schools, fast food joints, wherever kids work... and do the same thing... sooner or later, folks who'd normally be calling the ONDCP flagship assessment center would at least know what questions to ask.

Something else to consider, that NWI Times flat out refuses to do another story. What's up with that? Is that legal?  :deal:  They plugged the BOGUS CADC many times over the years, not they aint fessin up...   :blabla:  :blabla:  :blabla:  :blabla:  :bs:
