I an the guy who pointed out the idiocy and evil of mr,groubert and the "recovery industry". I inadvertently "outed" myself; no big deal.
I quit the uh "vikes and vodka" diet in march of 2007 and am still "clean", as "they" say, without "benefit" of the 12 steps.
I had the help of nontraditional therapist and a medical doctor - not a bunch of weasels and their slogan laden cult.
I have seen "recovery" destroy many people, either by making them worse physically and/or psychologically.
Recovery can become an addiction, especially when complicated by the trauma of a recovery program using known psychologically damaging mind control techniques. On top of that, the more you are told you can't ever drink or drug again and that even a little slip will send you back to the psychological beginning, this seems to create a stress in the mind where you are focused on substances and fear instead of actual recovery and enjoying a life with some better decisions. There are probably always underlying issues behind addiction, which almost never get the attention they need. You can't "cookie cutter" people when everyone comes from a different set of variables. Some people need a lot of support and some just grow out of it.
