The whole culture is bankrupt
« on: November 10, 2008, 11:26:14 PM »
Seriously,Im thinkin about cashin in my coupons and gettin the fuck out of the corp/suburbia complex.I find next to nothing "civil"in this civilization.
I used to wonder about rastas calling things babylon,at one time I THOUGHT I saw it. Now Im convinced. Off the grid maybe is a not so bad place, what do we all work towards? and to what end? am I just running laps? I think I live my life wrong, not in terms of like doing bad shit, just not doing right by my own standards.

In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center.

You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life.

You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower.

And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway

How much can you know about yourself, you've never been in a fight? I don't wanna die without any scars

If I remember correctly, Babylon is a term from revelations for the most powerful city in the most powerful nation in the world of which nobody can make war with (the beast with seven/eight heads, some hold to be G7 (8 if you count Russia, the bear).  It's a place of oppression, fear, and over all else, greed.  Story goes that the whole place burns to the ground in a day.  "Babylon is gonna burn" in other words.  Of course, some think it means Babylon, in one day, is gonna collectively toke up.  Either way burning is meant, after all that, the leaves of the tree of life bring peace to mankind.  You can guess what the Rastas believe the tree of life to be (the holy sacrament, jesus in an herbal smoke rather than re-incarnated in a cracker).  It's actually a cool story when you look at it from that perspective, rather than a literal one.  Read Revelations chapter 13 to see what I mean.
