Is this an impolite question to ask in some way? Do you not want to answer?
All the most anybody here (admins, which are myself and ginger) can see is an IP address. My external IP address is 82.123.238.186. The most I can tell from that (or any ip address) is approximately where a person is located. This, however is not entirely accurate. If you take that number I just gave to you, google "ip locate" or go to a site like
this (link), you can tell that I am in Paris, France... Street address? Nope. It's approximate (and it's not really even close).
That is ALL anybody can tell from an IP address. Not who you are or what is your name, phone number or address. Nothing like that. An approximate location that is
at best within 10 or so miles and on average somewhere in the right geographical region (but sometimes on the another continent entirely).
If you're paranoid enough that even that is too much for anybody to know, you can use a proxy (google it) which masks your IP address so nobody will even know that. Most often, such utilities are used to get around website bans, but since nobody ever gets banned from here, there really isn't much point.
