Turn of image posting - yesterday.

Done.  It's a change across the board for everybody (so it's fair).  If you have an image to link to now, put it in URL tags but they will no longer be embedded (this change is retroactive).  I might get overruled by Ginger, but for now, the change is made.

Well.  You can still cut and paste the scat porn links into your browser if you like.  This way the rest of us have a choice of whether to see something or not.

This sort of discussion goes on all the time in the government. They get hundreds of thousands of angry phone calls from superbowl viewers they had to view an uncovered breast, and because they want to stay in power they fulfill the demands of the angry mob. But in america we have the first amendment which guarantees every citizen the right to free speech. The religious censors tried to shut larry flynt down, and someone even shot him because of the pictures he publishes some think are too obscene. Mr Flynt won his case because in america everyone is free to express themselves how they see fit, even if other people do not agree with it's content.

I know this is an agenda driven forum now rather than a place where free speech is paramount and I am fine with that. I almost lost my lunch over some of that porn that was posted. But punishing everybody and taking away an important way to express yourself seems like an over reaction. If it was sue posting the porn, she is probably happy that now her picture will never show up on this forum again. Maybe that was her strategy all along?

It's the only way to be fair.  Otherwise some human would have to go from image to image making a subjective decision as to what is kosher to post.

I get what you're saying, but images can still be linked to, so it isn't much of a big deal.  Nobody's censoring anybody's speech.

yeah the 1st amendment thing doesn't matter. But no images does censor things. You can't post images of relevant stuff. Image sites don't hold stuff indefinitely. I think a better solution is to ban who, ban proxies, but i guess then people would be more open to getting sued or what not, and would lose anonymity.
