Note: West Ridge Academy is one of the financial backers of CALO in MO. Ken Huey, of CALO, also worked at West Ridge Academy.
Do you know more details about that linkage? As far as I can tell, it is through
Proficio Management, Inc. Back in January of 2008, Proficio VP
Kimball DeLaMare announced that they would now be providing management and support services for three new programs. These programs were
Aspiro (Randy Oakley, Brian Church),
CALO (Ken Huey, Nicole Fuglsang), and
Renovo Boys Academy of Missouri (Brian Allred).
Aspiro has since been bought out by its primary management/leadership team. It would appear that
Proficio functions as a start-up umbrella to help nascent programs get off their feet. As Randy Oakley says of them, "Proficio created an employee friendly company and has provided leadership, expertise, and vision. Proficio enabled Aspiro management to conduct Aspiro's business as they saw fit. By
managing the accounting, legal, and technology operations during our formative years, we were free to focus on what we did best, and that is creating and operating an amazing new Therapeutic High Adventure model, and changing the lives of kids and families."
