the self inflicted death of fornits
« on: February 28, 2008, 09:35:12 PM »
The idea that once was fornits is dead and gone.

"Fornits" is nothing but an empty database and code. Posters are the one's who built this site, mostly anonymous posters.

Those in charge now choose to disrespect their posters, by not following their own guidelines and moderating one of the few "unmoderated" forums left. By locking the carcass thread - they ironically chose to prove it's original point - that freedom of speech is no longer respected on these forums.

Busy threads are not locked to "let users catch up". Fornits is in a state of hypocritical self implosion.

I have watched closely, this experiment in action. First the progression - and now the regression - of fornits. Last year Psy was quoting Voltaire when users were demanding TheWho be banned.
It's been - shall we call it educational -  to watch the rubber meet the road, when ideology meets reality, and those in charge are forced to decide whether they want to live up to their own standards. Even if it might be uncomfortable to do so.

Be honest with the users. This is a moderated forum - as the stickies, locks , guest edits and deleted posts prove - just like cafety or any of the other program forum that get three posts per week.

The future of fornits is stale.

You exaggerate with words like "hypocritical self implosion." What a crock. :D

I don't moderate this forum; I was able to lock the thread only because I started it.

The words accurately describe the situation, in my opinion.

I didn't reference the locking of "The Fornits" thread in my exaggeration. ;)

Ha, ha, ha, Froderick.  Perhaps you don't perceive the true meaning of all my posts.  I'm as shallow as a mud puddle.  I am not afraid of being known as "that cocksucker".  Indeed, Froderick, I relish the term.  Call me that, won't you?
From now on, I'm "Froderick's cocksucker".  Yes.  That shall be my new nom de plume.  I like it more than "Mighty Mushroom Meat Helmet".

You didn't? Ok, well, sorry for that, then...

Anyway, maybe you're right...but it'll come around again sooner or later, eh?

Ginger locked the thread so she could catch up in reading it herself.  It wasn't me.  Don't blame me.
