"A rose by any other name........" - you get the picture! Perhaps HLA is is the process of transitioning from a TBS to a RTC? Maybe the accreditations, state requirements, licensing etc. are not as stringent as they are with an academic institution? I'm just throwing out some thoughts as to what MIGHT be happening there. We're all aware that HLA is a very fluid place, to say the least. Bucci will do whatever it takes to hold onto his "evil empire!" Once again, I say "a rose by any other name is still a rose!"
I'm still curious about the enrollment #s at HLA as of today.

HLA has never been an "academic institution". Any institution that houses kids 24/7 must provide an academic component, but there primary purpose isn't, and has never been, academics. They are not a "school". They are a TBS/RTC with the required academic program.
All institutions that board kids 24/7, whether RTC or TBS or wilderness, must be licensed and monitored by the state. It's the law.

MMmm. Maybe that's true. But whilst some like to call it "fertilizer," others may well call it "shit."

Mountain Brook specifically calls themselves an "Adolescent Residential Treatment Center" on their web site. By calling themselves an RTC they must be licensed by ORS, but they do not show up as a licensed facility when you search ORS's web site.
