If the ones who are not satisfied are more likely to complain and seek out answers where are they all? We have maybe 5 posters from 20 – 30 years ago and a handful from recent programs… what does that tell you?
I see this as the overwhelming number of kids do extremely well in these schools and move on with their lives afterwards and the few kids who drop out or don’t do very well end up here on fornits telling their story.

The people responsible for SHUTTING down the abusive programs didn't seem to believe this.

But it doesn't matter they just move, change the name and carry on until they get shut down again just because "the overwhelming number of kids do extremely well".

It doesn't matter how many "shining examples" are plastered on the promotional websites for these programs.

Straight had TONS of positive testimonials, was supported by the Reagans, but hey, they were found abusive and fraudulent... and were shut down.

I can agree, the sales pitch can get pretty intense.  Thats why I suggest to visit the campus and meet with the kids and staff.

Exactly right, TSW... anyone who has been on an audit or is doing a walk thru for ISO certification is well aware of "leading" or "tossing a bone".  What I did and many other parents do is to stick around and have lunch with the group or choose to speak with some kids at random... obviously some kids would not be a good choice because they are going thru a difficult time.  But I tell parents if you spend enough time there to talk with the staff members and a few kids you will get a sense if yor child would be a good fit or not.

Thanks for the Potemkin link!!  That is so true!!  LOL, when I was in Russia we had a driver (Ruslan, I believe) who would pick us up everyday from the hotel and take us directly to the baby houses or the same shopping area and take the same route.  We would ask him if he could take a different route or shop at a different store and our translator told us he was instructed to only take us to those specific places and no place else no side streets.  After some persuasion we were able to visit more "out of the way places" but it wasn’t easy and he was always calling someone to get permission when we deviated from our plans.

Hey, maybe i shouldn't even jump into the middle here, but i'm getting a little irritated!!!  talking about MY experiences, i HAVE gone to the authorities, but nothing as of yet has been done.  the home i was in is still up and running and abusing and ruining lives.  and i think after 18 years of carrying all of this crap INSIDE, i have a right to come here and post so others can see.  I know ppl from my program who experienced things 10x's worse than what i did...so NO ONE has the right to come on here and doubt what someone else says happened to them.  honestly, this is just another way that these messed up programs win...this is how they thrive and stay in operation.  and many people don't go to the police b/c guess what...they are gonna' get treated w/ the same reaction that you are throwing out there.  people don't believe this kind of torture happens.  and as far as going in and taking a tour of the place...that's kind of funny.  i don't think they are going to have you come in on the day when they are handing out the whippings, you know.  you get to see maybe 5 or 10 kids at a time...in a small controlled group...nice and brainwashed and too afraid to scream to the visitors that they need help.  and by the way...everytime you judge someone else's story and post your doubts in such a way as to call them out as a liar...you cast doubt in some parent's mind.  some parent who may be here to check out the place they want to send their kid to.  in the end i hope you are held accountable for what happens to some poor kid b/c their dad read your post and figured that the rest of us losers here must be lying.
oh yeah...and in my case......
Abduction....MEANT being kidnapped
Abuse....MEANT being abused
Isolation.....MEANT total isolation and degradation (and throw in some humiliation as well)......on and on
Incarceration....meant being held captive against my will

The problem with changing the definitions is that kids like yourself read here on fornits that being escorted to a school is considered kidnapping, when it is not.  So when a child gets out of school and is pissed off for some reason or because they didn’t want to attend the program they go to the police and say  â€œHelp, I was kidnapped!!!â€

Man, i only wish I had gotten a day to spend by myself in a room.  and if the biggest concern i had was no salt and pepper at the dinner table, i wouldn't be here on Fornits.  OBVIOUSLY, history has shown us examples of people who have fabricated stories of abuse.  and history also shows us the reasons people have fabricated those stories.  this is a different forum altogether.  here we are people reaching out to others who have gone through a similar situation.  we are sharing our stories also to educate people  who otherwise would never hear the truth.  it's like the miracle drug weight loss commercials...they never show the fat girl who spent $450 on the pills and ended up gaining 35#....duh, they show a before pic of someone looking extremeley slovenly, and then miraculously 12 days later she looks like a model.  so go ahead and read all the testimonials on the websites of all the child TORTURE programs around, and you will see the same.  do you think they'd put my testimonial on there?  not likely.  so this is where i get to post my testimonail...my story of what really went on on the inside.

I think we've found a place where TheWho is desperately afraid, so let's make an effort to poke holes in it.

Gookin should put this in the Escaper's Guide: The moment the escorts show up, IMMEDIATELY DO WHAT YOU CAN TO GET TO A PHONE AND DIAL 911. You can even stab them if you like- odds are you won't get in trouble for it (and even if you do, what is the legal system gonna do- send you to jail, a better place than the average program? :lol:) If the police see two large, burly men attacking a screaming teen, what the fuck do you think they are going to do?

Don't fucking make it easy for them. When your parents see you screaming, and after the cops have taken hours to calm everybody down (or take someone to jail, or whatever), the entire fucking neighborhood will know what your parents have tried to do and they probably won't go through with it.

Similarly, if you do something like send your foot into the spokes of the steering wheel when being kidnapped (yes, it IS kidnapping) and th cops come, and they see one of the escorts beating you for it (THIS ONE WAS ACTUALLY REPORTED.), they WILL take you back home. Guaranteed.

Start fighting back immediately or end up at the tender mercies of shitheads like this one.

And you are a troll for refusing to give your full name, and address. Survivors don't owe you any info they aren't willing to give, for whatever reason, and that doesn't mean anything.
