In growing any business or keeping it successful (which includes databases). I think one of the keys is having everyone feel comfortable that the site they are posting in is secure. With the whole identity theft problem going on people don’t want to enter into sites they are not familiar with let along log in and give out their email and other information.
When peoples’ posts are being tampered with here, some here may feel it is funny, but look at it thru the eyes of someone new and not familiar with site security. I think it is importation to get as many different sides and point of views as possible posting onto fornits.
Kids are more likely to be risk takers and sign in no matter what, because they don’t have as much to lose.
Parents and staff have more to risk: They have their jobs and kids to think of and tend to be more cautious.
If you look at the majority of posters I would say we have more younger people, kids that attended various schools than we do staff and parents (older people).
So in order to balance the scales we need to provide an environment where they feel comfortable to post and exchange information, ideas, get help etc.
So its not just a matter of how many people where exposed or who, but how secure of an environment we create.

Oh my GAWD... You don't even need a friggin'
name to register here, and the site tolerates proxies like you wouldn't believe...
Plus, this business has been around for 'bout 40 years or so, and some of those earlier survivors are older than some of the so-called parents here. Now,
those people have potentially lots to lose, being survivors
and parents, some with sensitive jobs blah blah blah...
Go back and memorize Deborah's post. Exactly
WHAT are you on your high horse about? Nobody knows your name, your IP was never posted, and the same could be said about your email 'cept that
you just posted it earlier this morning.
