Hyde those socks

Hyde School girls' and boys' basketball coach Tom Bragg is known as a dapper dresser, who has made some intriguing choices in sideline attire during his lengthy, successful tenure at the Bath boarding school. One of his annual favorites is an old school, blue varsity sweater with a gold letter 'H.'

That one stayed in the drawer Tuesday, when Bragg's combination was one for the ages.

As he stood patiently in the coach's box Tuesday before Hyde's quarterfinal girls' game against Forest Hills, Bragg wore a pink dress shirt with a slightly darker tie. It was certainly different, but not outlandish.

Then Bragg assumed his normal, seated position on the bench, and the rising hem of his pants legs revealed matching pink socks.

Bragg, a former Hyde School basketball and football star and a Division I college hoop standout in the 1980s, is always one of the tallest men in the building at any tournament game. It's unlikely that anyone accosted him to take a swipe at his sartorial splendor.

Gotta love those pink socks.  Perhaps they started out as white socks, and were dyed with Kool-Aid.  Did you know Tom Bragg during your time, Weston?

I was actually trying to remember him. I am drawing a blank but he could very well have been there during my time. The name sounds real familiar....

Mr. Bragg! I knew him and remember him very well. He wasn't so bad. In fact, I'd say he's one of the only staff members that I felt might possibly genuinely care about my development, albeit in a somewhat misguided way. But he's pretty scary when he's angry, because I remember him being like 7 feet tall, though that might have something to do with the fact that I was 14-15 and still relatively short.

Tony Bradley married Wendy M., Tony passed away the same year as Michelle Correa, he had been struggling with the law and, I think, was dishonorably discharges from USMC.
Tom married another Wendy, but they are in the process of a messy divorce, very sad!
Bragg's a good man, who demands the best from all around, he's a no-nonsense kinda guy.

PINK SHIRT, this one.  Mike Nuesse at the Bath reunion in 2003.  Nice guy, but I do think the Kool-Aid dye job seems to have set well here?  Correct me if I'm wrong, Mike.  Say it ain't so...
