Okay, here is a lesson in blcoking images. You can right click on the image above, and there will be an option to "block images from _________" which will always block from that server. Obviously, you will end up seeing it once, but you don't even have to wait for it to finish loading in order to use the "block" function.

If you want to unblock it, you can go to the exceptions button next to the "load images automatically" in the tools menu. (In the "main" tab.)

It's especially useful if you know that the server is notorious for hosting images which have viruses in them.

Yes, image files such as .gifs and .jpegs, can indeed have viruses in them. All it takes is for them to download into your browser cache, which is what happens when you view them online.

BTW, my instructions for the above is if you are using firefox. I don't know what it is for anything else, and nobody should be using any other browser anyway, as far as I'm concerned.
