Joseph W. Gauld:
You little piss-wits think you're gonna git away with something, eh!? Let me tell you something, lemme tell it to you good, like you're never ever gonna forgit it!! You may think I'm some ole cracker, like I dunno what the frigin bejesus you're talking about, but I'm HIP to yer tricks, you little know-nothing, spineless, characterless, good-fer-nuttin' LOSERS!!! If I could reach out through this internet thingy, I'd smack you something good!! You need to wake up and get with the program!!
We at the Hyde Schools are committed to extracting the very best out of your child. We have devoted our lives to the concept of coercing each child's unique potential (so long as it is within our acceptable limits, of course, har har), much as one squeezes the precious delicate butterfly -- out of its ugly hairy cocoon of adolescence -- with vise-grip pliers.
Hyde is not for everyone. If you'd rather opt for the rabble of mindless mediocrity and low standards of character development, then Hyde is not for you. If you'd rather your kid ends up dead, insane, in jail, or in the Libertarian Party, then Hyde is not for you.
Emphatically,
Joseph W. Gau!d, The Educator
Ed Legg:
Hey Y'all
You current Hyde students don't know me. I was Head of School back in the day when the position was called Headmaster. We had some fun back then in the New Dorm, but it was the home made kind, usually with my wife Anne. My buddy Bob had some fun with a girl there, but that is on another thread.
The subject today is Drugs. As many of my former student will recall I gave a few talks on the subject. The chief problem with drugs is they stifle personal growth and creativity. For example Samuel_Taylor_Coleridge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Taylor_Coleridge ) Who remembers:
" In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kubla_Khan
Hardly anyone I would guess. Who would want to read that drug addled crap? OR
"Water, water, everywhere,
Nor any drop to drink."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rime_of_th ... nt_Mariner
No one ever quotes it correctly it is such a piece of crap.
I know some of you are thinking "Yes but isn't the #1 rock album of all time inspired by the use of LSD?"

True, but it is a passing fad. No one will remember the Beatles in 100 years. They will be forgotten just like Poe and Coleridge.
Just look at Bob Dylan. He had a promising career as a Pete Seeger look a like then he got wacky on the stuff and you got Subterranean Homesick Blues http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subterrane ... sick_Blues and then he live in that house in New York and corrupted those nice Canadian boys:

This is one thing I agree with Joe on. If you want to get things done you better not mess with Major Tom. Before you toke, remember Bob Marley died of lung cancer.
Anne and I are very happy, drug free, looking at our Norman Rockwell prints, listening to Pat Boone and watching heart warming stories on the Hallmark channel.
Your's with a clear eye and a straight head,
Still the best Head Master,
Ed Legg

Ursus:
Hey Master Ed Baiter (say it fast -- faster, faster, faster!!),
If you weren't so busy adopting fish and naming them after your wife (is it the fins or the gills that suggest a resemblance?), and actually PAID ATTENTION in the class of living life in the real world, you would remember that Bob Marley's cancer of the lungs was secondary to the primary site (a melanoma in an old injury on his big toe, easily amputated if need be).
Disrespectful to the core,
Ursus of Fornits
