A little inspiration

I found this interview to be very inspirational as a young person wanting to make a difference in the world. It's an interview on Moyer's Journal with Grace Lee Boggs. I recommend watching the full video here

The one with poet Robert Bly is good too - here

Thank you Hanz. Good ol Tx boy. Ya know when you're waiting, looking for something and it lands in your inbox... well that was for me, if no one else. Brilliant woman. Hope lots of people saw that interview and took it to heart.

So many wonderful quotes could be taken from that interview.

Do something local, something real, however small. Don't "dis" the political system, understand their limitations. Achieving political power is not the solution.

Moral arguments won't take hold with government. Haven't looked sufficiently at what's happening at the grassroots level in this country. Haven't emphasised sufficiently the cultural revolution we have to make among ourselves in order to force the government to do differently.

Don't depend on the government to do it. Nothing positive starts with government.

If we stick with Race, Class, Gender struggles we're stuck.

Loved her example of doing something local- Will Allen's project. Awesome. So very Permaculture.
