Can't remember the name of it.  It's not new.  It stars Edward Norton and Edward Furlong as brothers involved in white supremacy.  This movie  SHOCKED  me. I'm still  ::jawdrop:: about it!

More to the topic...  I saw Fahrenheit 451 when it first came out w/Werner-what's-his-name?   Kemper, maybe?  I still regard that as Sci-fi, make believe (like Bradbury, maybe), and certainly not the way it is anywhere in the world...yeahsureright

Back in the 1900's ,  ( ::roflmao::  ::roflmao::  ::roflmao::  ::roflmao::  ::roflmao:: ::roflmao::  ::roflmao::  ::roflmao:: ) that was particularly scary stuff, @that time...still is...

American History X.

That was one fucked movie. It was harsh and gruesome, but brilliant. It was hard to watch. That scene where he curbstomps the guy... ::puke::

Another pretty good one was Crash (the one about racism, not the earlier one about people who get off on fucking while smashing into other cars).

The Kids Are Alright (documentary of The Who)

Shakes the Clown (fucking hilarious!)

The Devil's Rejects (starring Rob Zombie)

--- Quote from: ""Froderik"" ---I recognize it from Orwell's classic novel "1984" (which I read for the first time while in Straight, Inc. in the year 1984. How's that for irony?)

I also read "A Clockwork Orange" while I was in there...

How funny. I read 1984 when I was at CEDU. A rather subversive teacher snuck it to us, in addition to Lord of the Flies, Childhood's End, Brave New World, and Fahrenheit 451.

In addition to 1984, I've read the other books you listed except for Childhood's End; I don't think I've read that one, and I've forgotten who wrote it. I really liked Fahrenheit 451, as well as some of Bradbury's other writings (short stories and novels alike)...

American History X
yes!!  ...and everything you said, too Rachael! ::puke::
...and there's actually A NAME for that curb-atrocity?   ::puke::

Did Bradbury write F*451?

Froderick:  Shakes is very funny and that Who doc. is classic   :nworthy:

Believe it or not, Fantasia is very entertaining, but ya have to turn up the volume for that one  ::rocker::

My husband sent his parents to see Clockwork Orange...back then. (They were old-country Italians :o ...)

Mine came home like this :o  :o  and never went to another Malcolm MacDowell film ( that was a wise choice )
