Nitpick them kids, Mel, MAKE EM LEARN!!!
« on: August 11, 2007, 10:26:18 PM »
:o excerpt from an interview of a dude that was at the Model Schools Conference in DC last month where Mel spoke...

"2005 National Principal of the Year Dr. Mel Riddile took center stage at another breakout session Ebeling attended during the conference. Riddile served as principal of T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virg., the school featured in the 2000 movie "Remember the Titans." This award-winning administrator outlined his version of successful evaluations, which involve teachers explaining what they're attempting to teach in the classroom and follow-up conversations based on the answers received.

"Probably the biggest thing I took away from his talk is how much time he spent in the classrooms talking to the teachers and constantly readjusting," Ebeling recalled. "...That helps get down to the individual kid level eventually. And, that's where it really needs to be. Success or failure is if you have the needs being met for each individual kid."
