I still remember the day that they lied to me bout
Sending me to a place that was suppose to help me with
problems I didn’t have but the symptoms they were cast on me to fit,
The insured addict of the drug war in the 1980’s

Drug War Casualty, can you feel me?
Drug War Casualty, did you see me?
Sitting straight, watch me motivate.
Really wanting water.
Strange and cultic rules that they’re given me
Long lost and gone is my sanity
Pray to wake up from this terrible dream
Will the day come for my mind to think free?

Then that day I got away running through the streets of Dallas paranoid
Thinking, they were hiding everywhere going to jump out, catch and take me back for some more, brainwashing battery to become a Reagan Youth soldier to fight their war.

Drug War Casualty, can you feel me?
Drug War Casualty, did you see me?
Sitting straight, watch me motivate.
Really wanting water.
Strange and cultic rules that they’re given me
Long lost and gone is my sanity
Praying to wake up from this terrible dream
Will the day come for my mind to think free?

Ah, the old west Texas town of El Paso and another one of Newton's old mindstomping grounds.  There are many in El Paso from KIDS that understand this tune.  Myself included.

He wasn't in KIDS, but I kind of grew up with the owner of Club 101 there in EPT.  Not sure if he's the current owner, but he started the joint years and years ago.

Have a good show, man.  Wish I could be there.  Eating tamales, drinking beers, smoking $30.00 ounces, and listening to music such as that which tells a bit of the story of the darkest chapter of my life.

Thanks for your words.

Our drummer is on full schalship at NMSU...  So we've kept touring plans limited..  But that might change in the future.

When I was on fourth phase I was sitting in World Geography class at Burkner..  The teacher was Miss Waltrop..  Her nephew was sitting in with the class..  We started talking and he was a cop out from KIDS in El Paso.  At that time I didn't know what KIDS was and he didn't know what Straight was..  He were both just kinda shocked at how simular the programs were..   KIDS was stricter in the ways of privlidges earned later in phases than they were at straight..
At Straight we did school/work on 3rd phase..  KIDS, I think he said, was fourth., etc.......

We clicked as friends and he was there the next couple of days..
so we talked about the programs and shit till Straight staff told me I was not allowed to talk to him anymore..  I had mentioned him and KIDS to an executive staff in a one-on-one..  She was unaware of what KIDS was at first and later told me I would not be allowed to talk the guy anymore.
The next day at school he started talking to me and I told him I couldn't talk to him anymore cause of the straight rules..
That was the last day he was there.

heart felt, yea this the only song I've every done that I felt kinda uneasy about before singing..  Sometimes I've looked out at the crowd and thought "do I really wanna sing these words to these people??"   We skipped it a time or two..
We did a show in Odessa, TX in May and at the end of the night the crowd kinda dwindled down, Time hit midnight and the teenagers dominating the auidence had to go home for curfew..With the  smaller drunkend crowd I felt ok with telling a bit of the story as we started the song..The response of the people still there was "fuck yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" in regards to having gone thru drug war inflicted bullshit...It's seeming one way or another, tons of folks can relate and I'm feeling a bit more confident about singing and telling what this song is all about.
