i worked in a program that has since closed in georgia.  the department of juvenile justice was very similar to florida's way of thinking by sending these kids who were "troubled" and had gotten in trouble to a place in the middle of nowhere.... yeah a shithole for sure.  alot of the southern states, florida, georgia, alabama, south and north carolina, along with the western states, utah and colorado,  insist on locking their youth in a shithole that is essentially a torture camp.

This is so terrible.  The amount of facilities out there is mind boggling.  Do we really have that many kids who are in need of help, or more to the point, more parents who are in need of help?  Why can't we just, just, just, all get along?
