Ok, so I'm trying to remember what stuff had to be locked up in host homes. Here's what I remember:

- salt
- white sugar
- knives
- scissors
- razors
- shoes
- all cleaning products


What else am I forgetting? I think white flour may have been on there too...

You forgot:
Freedom of religion, thought and speech. Not to mention non approved music and television programming. I guess the worry was that if we weren't going to kill ourselves we might come up with a rational thought and try to escape or organize a revolt against our oppressors.
HA HA. At least we can laugh at it now.
