Do these schools admit to being part of the wwasp? Or is it something they would deny if asked. If anyone knows, I tried finding out by phone but get no one that is alive on the other end

Darrington Academy attenpted to deny it, but ended up being involved in some sort of lawsuit directed against wwasp if I'm not mistaken.

Maybe go check www.isac-org.com

It appears that WWASPS schools are trying to disassociate with the name "WWASPS". But if you go to a website promoting one known wwasps school you're bound to see others that are unofficially affiliated with wwasps. They keep it in the family to a great extent. Go to the ISAC site and watch "Who's watching the kids" it's about SCL but gives you some insight into the games they play, including this one.

Spring Creek Lodge Academy Withdraws From World Wide Association of Specialty Programs & Schools

Spring Creek Lodge Academy, a specialty boarding school in Thompson Falls, Mont., (SCLA) today announced its withdrawal from the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools (WWASPS).

Thompson Falls, MT (PRWEB via PR Web Direct) June 23, 2006 -- Spring Creek Lodge Academy, a specialty boarding school in Thompson Falls, Mont., (SCLA) today announced its withdrawal from the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools (WWASPS).

Chaffin Pullan, Assistant Director of SCLA, referred to the school’s association with WWASPS as “a positive relationship that initially provided us with a very supportive network.” However, Pullan explained that SCLA has evolved into a unique and independent program. He does not foresee any significant changes in the school’s day-to-day operations as a result of the split.

“Since our vision has gradually changed and SCLA already looks so different from other WWASPS schools, the next logical step is to acknowledge those differences and move on,” said Pullan.

Pullan noted that WWASPS had received significant media scrutiny over the years, which has not helped SCLA’s reputation. However, he affirmed that this was not the primary reason for leaving the organization. “It’s a question of what we are now able to provide our students and families on our own as opposed to what we’ve done in the past with WWASPS’s help,” says Pullan.

WWASPS is an affiliation of (now) four specialty boarding schools located in the United States and Jamaica. It is headquartered in St. George, Utah.

The answer is yes, the schools are attempting to dissociate themselves with WWASPS.

Since the programs have to be networked for marketing reasons, and the seminars, it's just a lie they are telling parents. The company is still structured in the same way it always has been. Kids are still shuffled around the various programs.

The facilities are connected, make no doubt about that.

They keep growing so fast it really is hard to keep track of all their facilities. Especially now that they are trying to hide them and make them look like separate companies.
