I went in the Army for about 9 years after High School, I'm out now but I still do defense contracting work.

I live in Virgina now, I love this state.

Thats awesome!  I have a lot of respect for our troops and everything they do for us.  So did you get married and settle down and have a bunch of kids, or what?

I remember him, but no I hadn't heard about any accident he was in. How long ago was that?

This was about 10 years ago or so.  I heard that Ben and Mark (for the life of me I cant remember his last name) were in a bad accident and that Ben was killed.  Could just be a wicked rumor, who knows!

yes he is gone. also killed, unrelated to that accident, scott tucker, jonathan brooks, there are others but their names escape me.  Anyone know what happened to Chirs Crosby, I would really like to talk to him.
Couple of the old staffers are in and out of jail these days. Donnie S., Yvette C., seen some other lifers from 89-92 also in there. funny how things work.
What was the name of the grizzly adams lookin dude who did sessions with us, sometimes he would bring meditation tapes. He killed himself some time back.

It is strange how things work out.  I hung with Chris C. some after the program.  Last time I saw him was at John H's funeral.  I cant remember that guys name that used to come in group either.  A bunch of us actually went out on his boat a long time ago.  If it is who I am thinking of I really liked him.  Is Jonathan the kid that had terets sydrome super bad? That name rings a bell.

Killed himself? You don't say!  I was under the impression that "The Program" cured everything from "dry druggie behavior" (when you never did drugs, but were certain to be a junkie one day) to hardcore physically addicted opiate addicts.

No way?  Someone actually DIED?

Never saw THAT coming!

Yea, Jonathon was the Turette's guy I believe. I can't remember the grizzly adams dude's name either, but he seemed pretty hardcore "program", or at least AA's program which is what had gotten him sober.

It doesn't surprise me that the staffers are in and out of prison and shit, I think a lot of them were more full of shit than the rest of us. I know guys like Nick and Greg got back in to drugs almost right after they quit being staffers.

By the time I moved back up to NC everyone that I knew from the program relapsed with the exception of David Y. and Tony E.  Everyone that I knew meaning everyone that I was hanging out with.

Yea, I can't think of too many of those guys (and girls) who didn't end up relapsing.

It'd be nice to see some of them again, relapsed or not, just to say hi. Doubt that'll ever happen though.

So many relapses for such a "successful" program.
