(Even television viewers must have a limit somewhere)
Oh really... just continue to push, and edge, and inch by inch... whittle away at the sensitivity of the audience. not much shocks anymore... At least here. Well i take that back. Showing a breast on TV shocks... and provokes quarter million dolllar fines from the department of morality, tens of thousands of letters, outrage that lasts months, google keywords hitting number 1...
Shit.. as a country, we really have our priorities sorted out... Personally, I hate the fucking TV. I never watch the thing... It's where most people get their reality, their truth. It's a simulacrum. TV is 100% broadcast, 0% receive... People used to look to the news for facts, now they look for "expert opinion" because they are either too lazy, too busy, too apathetic, or just simply forgot they had brains...
God I hate that thing... Stop watching it for a few weeks and see if anything changes. You see the world differently, you start to think for yourself.. you exercise that mushy thing in your skull... You question, you seek, you find, you speak...
Robert Lifton, singer, Ofshe, and others noted that social environment was paramount to influencing behavior... Most Americans have TV intertwined into their social life in such a way that it serves as a surrogate for what would otherwise likely be time spent in introspection, creative activities, or with others... You don't think what you watch on the TV influences you just a little? I know enough, having been in program, that you often don't realize when you are being influenced... Shit.. if it didn't work, companies wouldn't pay for commercials.
Aah... I'm so glad this is a forum where i can say what the hell I feel... god bless ya Ginger!
