The earth's magnetic field is collapsing with portions of the North and South already reversed. We are about to experience a Polar reversal which has occurred on four previous occasions.

This is not true.

Prove it!  :P

Quiet citizen. They are repenting for your sins, whether you realize it or not. It's your fault Africa's children are starving. It's your fault that two planes struck the WTC. It's your fault the Arabs aren't happy in their sandbox. It's your fault that so many animals are being eaten. Get down on your knees and pray to Al Gore and beg his forgiveness and maybe he will forgive you.

Interesting that you should make that comment. On the documentary I saw yesterday, they were talking about how radical environmentalism is destructive to Africa. These radical crackpots in essense don't want Africa to industrialized because that would mean more of that evil CO2. Consequently, people are having to suffer unnecessary hardships. Couple that with EU, US, and Japan agricultural subsidies, and you have a recipe for African mass starvation. Think about that the next time some Liberal sap tells you about the poor dying kids in Africa and how the US is bad because it doesn't give enough foreign aid.

I have to guilt to repent for. These lily white rich environmentalists have a lot to repent for though, because they are causing the poor to remain poor in Africa.

You see one documentary and now you are an expert spouting off political rhetoric to your heart's content. That is what is wrong with this planet, too many busy bodies and know-it-alls.  Right?

About as funny as the pimples on Gore's ass.

 Al "Douchebag" Gore has the fattest presidential ass since Taft.

Speaking of "African mass starvation"...

The same thing is happening with genetically modified food. Idiots actually protest this stuff when it has already saved countless millions from starvation.

Just another chapter in their brainless search for a cause to get behind.

Anyone familiar w/DDT?

It's widely considered one of the big bad chemicals (like agent orange) and was outlawed. Outlawing it was applauded. It saved hundreds of birds from dying and also protected a few dozen people from harm... Unfortunately, the cost of shutting down DDT production was more than 10 million dead people in third world countries because they didn't have DDT to protect them from malaria and no good alternatives to DDT existed.

Like DDT, global warming is an emotionally charged cause which do more harm than good.

Actually, no, there's more to that one. I was keeping up on the chatter when it was happening. The serious environmentalists (i.e. the hillbillies, hippies  mostly of the great north west, farmers et al) were extremely upset and making as much noise as they could about Monsanto's Terminator seed technology. Google that, it turns up a lot of legit history. I remember the shocking statement out of the president or some other mouthpiece for WHO defending the practice of intentionally starving Africans to force compliance w/ WHO and UN policies.

This was one of many very legitimate complaints against agribusiness. There were many. Genetically manipulated Fusarium Oxysporum as Bill McCullum's "Silver Bullet" in the drug war was another outragous example of frankenfarming lunacy.

Here's what happens, though, to most logical, well founded protests. They try to ply their schtick in Seattle and they make the mistake of joining up in a most promiscuous way with just about damned near anybody who smiles at them for any reason, even if it's just the Ganga talkin'. Witness the campaign to ban Dihydrogenmonoxide:

I remember the whole episode of Penn & Teller. They painted all complaints about bioengineering with the same broad brush. It's wicked easy. Simple strategy, really, to discredit your opponent. Just find a pack of posers and fools who don't know a god damned thing, but like to pretend they do and put them in front of the cameras. I was disappointed that a couple of bright fellows like Penn & Teller fell for it.

So you're in good company, to be sure. But really you haven't looked into this issue deeply enough. Think about it. Controlling the food supply has been a routine, accepted part of military and political strategy since Cesar noted that an army marches on it's stomach and much, much earlier in the more literate Far East. All you really have to ask yourself about whether or not it's being done is "are there the means". Yeah, I think we can agree that the means to do it are well in place; logistically, technologically and politically they certainly are. So what aspiring world ruler could resist the temptation to use them? The only thing saving us from total domination by an authoritarian world government is the other half a dozen or so authoritarian hopefuls all fuckin w/ each other as they tend to do.

As to precisely how? That's a much more muddy question. There's just so much misinformation out there and so few people w/ both the means and the incentive to get uncomfortable enough to say anything. Corn pone opinions.

Yup, yet another perverse result of top down micromanagement. Here's another.

They're spraying Roundup mixed w/ isotopes for extra stickiness by crop duster over large swaths of So. America. Check the map. Funny how they only seem interested in eradicating the evil organic drugs from places with a lot of oil under them, infrastructure and favorable trade agreements w/ corporations in demand nations.Clinton put an ax to the Fusarium program, stating to the effect "Aw, c'mon, boys! Even ah cain't float that one, they're sure to perceive it as biowarfare!"  But all you'll ever hear about that is Hugo Chavez, cause the dude is like a cartoon character unless you really dig in deep, carefully sorting the bullshit from the compost.

I rather tend to think that this group of earnest environmentalists (spoofed in the above video) wasn't just a pack of mindless joiners.  Most people going to such an event are well-meaning and naturally inclined to support like-minded folk at the same event.  Penn & Teller were clearly posing as such, but with something a little less friendly on their real agenda.

To prey upon the good will and inherent lack of suspicion naturally present at such an event betrays great cynicism about the inner workings of human nature.  Perhaps a more appropriate spoof might have been to solicit positive response to a seemingly innocuous and beneficial chemical, and to then reveal that said substance actually already has a history of horrid birth defects and environmental mayhem in decades past.  The take-home from this would clearly have been to apply more critical thinking before approval, rather than to apply more critical thinking before disapproval, the latter being exemplified by the Penn & Teller spoof.  Our world certainly has a far more extensive and sordid history in the former form of analysis and public policy than it does in the latter.

I too was disappointed by how Penn & Teller chose to apply their talents, let alone that they chose to immortalize it on film so that a greater audience could learn their lesson.  To me it really looked like it was Penn & Teller that were acting like "a {pair} of posers and fools who don't know a god damned thing" about the greater ecological picture, "but like to pretend they do ...in front of the cameras."  Maybe that had more to do with the "greens" Teller pulled out of the pine tree than we realize; especially if said greens happened to come from Monsanto.

You won't let us build more dams because we might wipe out snail darters. Solar is still not efficient enough. Windmills are not the solution. I know. Wave the magic liberal wand. Abra Cadabra! Magic. We now have clean renewable energy sources. Here's a better idea. Send all the liberals who think we use too much energy to another country. With the energy we save with the population decrease we may just be able to cut our emissions down. I know we would cut down on the hot air emissions.

or we should just shut you up and save about a years worth of energy simply by not having you spew your energy sucking shit into the atmosphere.

Yes, Global Warming, as it is being promoted, is a complete joke. The whole idea that puny little man can have any effect on Earth's biosphere is patently absurd.
