« on: April 24, 2003, 12:13:00 AM »
Hey Ginger,
Is there some sort of block from AOL in posting a link to a thread? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

I am not quite sure what you are asking. Are you attempting to put a link into a post here?

Normally you can just put something like http://fornits.com/ and you should not have a problem. However it you html and put it in an then you must make sure that you have an ending tag with something in the middle. or it will look like

There are not any restrictions here on what you can do based on your ISP.

I was asking if there were some reason why I am not able to put a link into my post. In other words, I cannot drag a link into it, nor can I seem to type in the address. Perhaps it is just me and my lack of techsavyness.  Thanks.

I am not sure what the problem could be. There is noting on our end to stop you from preforming these tasks. Especially if you are typing the link in by hand. that just seems toooo spoooooooky to me.

Are you using the AOL browser or some other type of browser?

You should be able to copy and paste. That's what I do. Not only have I forgotten how to do math since the advent of calculators, I've forgotten how to spell since I started being a net geek.

Perhaps the sentiments contained in the following
pages, are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them
general favor; a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong,
gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises
at first a formidable outcry in defence of custom.  But the
tumult soon subsides.  Time makes more converts than reason.

Indeed strange, yes I am using the AOL browser. Wont let me cut, copy or paste, and it won't let me place a link into the posts. I have no idea. I am not even on a dinosaur puter, a brand new Dell is sitting here. Maybe I will get on someone else's puter and see what happens. Maybe it is just me, but I have tried all that I know, that is what landed me here asking you guys questions.

I'm sorry. I don't know much at all about AOL of whatever version. I only know that people constantly have problems with it. You might take this to another thread and just ask someone who's using AOL to check over here and see if they can help.

If it is a new Dell, I am sure that it came with IE (Internet Explorer) installed. Perhaps you should try using that insted of using the AOHell browser. That may solve your problem.

Any "computer geek" will tell you AOL sucks. Best advise would be to call their tech support or Dell's.
Good luck!
