speaking of charges

A whole new Class Action suit could/might be filed on the following abuses:
- Forcing children to perform manual labor (carry rocks, digging. ditches)
- Forcing children to pick up geese feces with their bare hands.
- Sleep deprivation.
- Denying medical care when children were injured and/or harmed.
- Restricting diets and limiting calories (aka "The Restriction Diet").
- Limiting or denying contact with family members.
- Verbal/physical abuses from counselors and staff (think Jim, Sir and Danny P.).
- Forcing children to sleep out in the cold without shelter.
- Improper and possibly illegal distribution of prescribed medications (or, better yet, let's just plain forget to give Johnny his medicine - he won't miss it for 10 days).
- Failing to report crimes to the police (Yes, a girl under the age of 15 having sex is considered Statutory Rape).
The list goes on and on, but the tangible part of this claim is every kid out there could/will testify to these abuses.

A certain counselor (DP) is brought up constantly on this board for being a bad counselor. He was there for a while. How is this possible that abusive counselors are not discharged?

Oh, they knew. They were just so desperate for staff they didn't care.
The most mind-blowing thing is that he QUIT and they hired him back after knowing all that he did. WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT THEM????

I don't really want to get into all of this, but I will say this...several students were interviewed about the rumors surrounding DP. NONE of them were able to offer first hand knowledge of anything he did. Nor could they say that they heard it directly from the person he supposedly abused. EVERYONE interviewed said they had heard rumors, but didn't know anything for sure. Perhaps he did do something, or perhaps people had "creepy" feelings about him because of the rumors. I don't really know. But HLA did investigate this and was not able to get any remotely substantial evidence about this rumor.
