loquacious drivel. my ass! Besitew, it ain't gonna go down like that. Kelly's got backups going back to a few minutes after the old forum went offline. I've got backups of that too. The data isn't lost. Shit, I've already made provisions to have all of the history held in safe-keeping so it all cam at least be retrieved in the worst case that it can't all be restored.
Don't worry, be happy.

Post #s 33, 34 I believe (march 8, 2007 1:24 A, 3:20 A). Both of these are responses to Bill Procida (guest). In both cases, the quote of Bill's original post is cut short, and the comments of the poster are completely gone.
These are not even the worst of the quote in a quote in a quote postings. Hyde tends to do this rather extensively. I should check some of the older posts when this was more prevalent. Along the same lines, if there is going to be a limit, perhaps a sticky could be entered on the Hyde forum to said effect. I am not sure that many of the posters check the web forum hosting posts...

just a quick update, ,i've double checked and we have the posts in their entirety in the db. I did have to reimport some from the back up.. But nothing is missing. I wikll wait until this evening and take the site down for about 10 minutes so I can update the data without anyone else wriiting to the db. After that, the missing post issue should be fixed for good.

Is the information from the shortened messages permanently gone?
Will there be a character/word limit now? If so, what?
--- End quote ---
Deborah just an FYI we have all teh posts so worry not. First there is a setting in PHP that limits the character out put for all database. That fixed some issues the other issue occurred when porting it from mysql to sql server data was sdropped. BUt that's why we have backups. I plan on porting over the missing data tonight OR reverting back to mysql either way your posts are safe and sound just thought you should know. and no there won't be a word limit. Well it will be high enough gthat no one will ever hit it unless they sit down and write a literal novel without getting up for say, 2 weeks. lol sqls limit is 2 billion characters. that's 2 gigs of text, which is huge.

Okay, where to begin... One needn't go far, as it is clear to me that this here Web Forum Hosting thread demonstrates many of the problems I was about to relate relative to the following thread:
http://wwf.fornits.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... c&start=30
[*] post #s 33,34: formerly missing text appears to have been retrieved, but there are now strange numbers inserted into the quote brackets, which are consequently no longer functional (making these two posts exceptionally difficult to read).
[*] post #46 onwards (and perhaps earlier, I did not check): strange slash marks next to quotation marks. Single quotation marks have been substituted by question marks.
[*] post #s 49, 50: text is again squished to the right, almost off the screen.
[*] post #50 or 51: quote was chopped short (it was only a few lines). Poster's reply came out in a different font. A few capitals appear bolded (they weren't before). Clickable link "back to top" was inserted at end of poster's text.
[*] line separating posts from each other and bottom of page appears to be missing starting with post #49.
[*] I posted here today, noticed a typo, went in to edit, and when I submitted my edit, got a blank page. The edit didn't take. I repeated this, same result. This also happened to me yesterday; at the time I thought maybe I was imaging things...
