Background checks on HLA employees

Does anyone know if HLA conducts (or conducted) background checks on their employees?

Anonymous:
They have to conduct background checks on all employees in accordance to federal law.

Anonymous:
It may be a federal law, but have they complied with that law by performing background checks?

Anonymous:
And whose relative do you think they farmed that task out to? I'm sure fees were charged and a document is in each file. However, do you really think a "real" check was completed? I know they were doing the checks for employees back in '99. Can't vouch for more recent times.

Troll Control:
They definitely DID NOT do background checks in 94,95,96.  Can't say what happened after....
