Midwest changes directors?
« Reply #15 on: July 01, 2007, 03:33:25 AM »
What a terrible man, and the staff that stood by and watched without doing anything.  Bastards.

As for Midwest, they were still affiliated with WWASP in March when I pulled my kid from TB, and almost sent him back to MW.  Glad I didn't.  And how stupid can he be?  He still uses Premier.  Like Premier isn't WWASP.  Don't trust him.

I wonder what that was all about anyway?

My child told me that at MW, in ops, they have a room which is jokingly called "The Rubber Room", supposedly for the child's safety.  Anyone else hear this from their kid?

You know they're now advertising under other names, right, such as "Teen Revitalization"  Link: http://www.troubledteenprograms.org/tro ... -programs/

I was going to suggest that, actually.  Internet advocacy will have to be targeted to their new names as well as the old WWASP moniker.  WWASP has a whole slew of front groups and sites they use to gain referrals.

As Kev properly already knows, Jens P is working by giving info. from Fornits to Anti-wwasp and vice-versa.

We also have kd (her real identity should remain anon.) working in the cafety.forums doing the same.

Rotsne and Wiki Researcher is covering fican and Fornits. Here at Fornits the swede (Oscar) and the Finn are most active, because we want Wiki Researcher and Rotsne to boost Fican.

Covergaard is rather ill and are currently using his strength adressing Word of Faith Fellowship Church's attack on Danish youth through their spin-off Faderhuset - in English "House of our Father[/url]. They are a real Roloff-alike using corporal punishment and runs boot camps preparing youth to die for Jesus on an Island south of Zealand. They are currently under investigation by both the police and DSS in Denmark. Covergaards reads his pm if someone needs help he refers to others.

We will update the wiki-databases with all kind of info and whenever it is possible upload contents to Wikipedia also under different usernames. CEDU is now to find found on Wikipedia posted by one the members working in other field. If Anti-wwasp diggs up info, it goes on wikis. If Cafety diggs up info, it goes on the wikis etc. Even if Caica or Strugglingteens digg up info by mistake, it goes on the wiki but we are the one who decides how to write their findings.

We hope that this statement tells how information published here on Fornits can be old news on Anti-wwasp. The information properly reported by Jensp to Oscar.

Regards
The unknown group of odd Europeans working for Secret Prisons for Teens.

BTW. They have not changed owners at Midwest. They have just found a new man in a nice suit to stand in the front. If you look at the articles made about the singing daugthers, it is still the same guy being refered to as the owner.

Here is what Struggling Teens had to say about a related site. This may also serve to document when WWASPS started this latest metamorphosis.

I suspect the Supporting Teens site preceded, and perhaps later turned into, the Teen Revitalization site? Certainly the format of not identifying the programs it represents is consistent. Supporting Teens is not -- as of this morning -- existent or available.

Of course Lon doesn't disapprove of WWASPS on "principle," but I get the impression that he does wish they would clean up their act some... I also think he was a little miffed that this site's banner (at least at the time) included a stylized logo incorporating the initials "S T News," which some might perhaps confuse with Struggling Teens' news service (he saw fit to include the banner in the following article).

The first part consists of what was then on Supporting Teens home page. Comments from Woodbury Reports/Struggling Teens are in italics.

SupportingTeens.com is a state of the art website that focuses on the positive aspects of helping at-risk youth. Our primary goal is to help unite the efforts of those professionals who utilize a positive approach in youth service endeavors. A "positive approach" includes those movements in Psychology, youth services, and the field of education who adopt a positive and optimistic view of human nature and human potential over a more "medicalized" and deficit-model philosophy. Examples of a positive approach might include the efforts of Positive Psychology, certain educational approaches, and any asset-based perspectives to fostering youth development. Whether you are a parent, an educational consultant, or a program representative, a more positive approach to helping youth is desperately needed, and we call on all of those interested to help further this cause.

In the upcoming months, we have high expectations of those that would like to participate. From news stories and current events to new studies and new methods; we want to know what is going on so we can help provide a medium that reaches everyone. Those who sign up as a member and would like to submit articles, press releases, etc… may do so by submitting a request to [email protected].

Editor's Note: In researching this site, we found that the phone number on the www.supportingteens.com, site is 801-717-8010, which is the same number used by the River Rock Academy, owned by William Fleming of Orem, Utah and announced in Woodbury Reports.

In addition, the www.supportingteens.com address is PO Box 1101, Orem Utah, which is the same address for Teen Transporters, also owned by William Fleming of Orem, Utah, as announced in Woodbury Reports.

We were contacted by a parent who called the Supporting Teens phone number about his son and almost immediately received emails with considerable detail from Kathy Allred, Admissions Coordinator, LIFELINES FAMILY SERVICES, www.lifelineshotline.com and www.lifeslinesfamilyservices.com (this one seems to be not available). The resources mentioned in the emails included C. S. Landre "Star of Life" Foundation.

The emails stated they "represent several specific specialty boarding schools" which included:

    Academy Ivy Ridge, Ogdensbury, NY
Cross Creek Programs in southern Utah.
Carolina Springs Academy, in South Carolina.
Darrington Academy in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
Horizon Academy on the Nevada/California border.
    Majestic Ranch, Randolph, Utah.
    Midwest Academy in Keokuk, Iowa.
    Pilars of Hope, Costa Rica.
Respect Camp, 30 day boot camp in Lucedale, Mississippi.
Spring Creek Lodge, in Thompson Falls, Montana.
    Tranquility Bay in Jamaica.
Woodland Hills Maternity Home, in Salem, Utah.

Transport Companies referred to as approved and in good standing with Lifelines Family Services were:

    First Response Transports, Gene McMahan.
Rick Strawn Security Services, Rick and Susan Strawn.
    Steadfast Security, LeRoy DeVore.
Teen Escort, Ann & Kay Atwood.
Teen Intervention Services, Glenda and James Paulus.
Spring Creek Lodge Second Chance Transport.
Trusting Hands Adolescent Services, for California students only.
    Majestic Ranch Intercept Transport Services.
Help Our Teen Adolescent Services: Cross Creek or Majestic Ranch.

Unique Online Troubled Teen Resources for Parents

Teen Revitalization contains unique information for parents with troubled teens. The website includes a hand-picked directory of effective residential treatment centers, teen programs and specialty boarding schools, a free online child assessment tool and more.

Salt Lake City, UT, July 26, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Teen Revitalization, http://www.troubledteenprograms.org, contains information that is not traditionally found on similar troubled teen programs related websites. Some unique features of the website include:

1. Twenty or more troubled youth programs and schools are in the directory.
2. Detailed information on each program including cost, location, and specialty.
3. An online child assessment tool.
4. Success stories (testimonials) from parents as well as students.
5. An informative video about the different schools and programs.
6. Parent support newsletter focusing on troubled youth.
7. FAQ and common concerns section to answer common questions.
8. Financial aid information and FAQ.
9. Online troubled teen program loan application.
10. Online request form to schedule a tour at a facility
11. Warranty information describing how the programs will give free services if unsuccessful.
12. Online request form to have a personal consultation to get more information.

The website currently lists 20+ troubled youth programs; each has its direct costs listed so parents can know up-front what the fees are without having to call the treatment center directly. There is also an online child assessment tool which parents can use to gauge how ‘at-risk’ their own son or daughter is compared to others. The assessment provides a solution plan based on the questions answered on the questionnaire. The website has several success stories from those who have used the services of the represented youth programs.

Success stories are grouped into two categories: parents and students. Parents can get a better idea of how a student views the programs as well as what parents think of the programs. The website contains an informative video about the youth programs and youth schools on the website. There are several informative publications including a FAQ, common concerns answered, and parent support newsletters. Parents can obtain valuable information on financial aid and apply for a student loan directly online. Parents who wish to view a facility in person or talk to someone about their options can call a listed toll-free number or fill out an online request form.

The website was designed to give power to the parents by giving as much information as possible to those who are struggling with parenting a teenager. The information will empower them to make sound decisions to ensure a positive relationship with their children.

Group of Specialty Troubled Teen Boarding Schools Achieve a 96% Success Rate

Teen Revitalization is an organization that boasts of a 96% success rates among the troubled teen programs they represent. Some unique features of their program include a risk-free warranty program, open enrollment policies, and family treatment integration.

Salt Lake City, UT, August 10, 2006 --(PR.com)-- http://www.troubledteenprograms.org - Teen Revitalization, an organization that consists of a group of premier hand-selected boarding schools, recently had a survey where they contacted parents of graduates one year following program completion. They asked parents how they felt about the results their child and family had experienced because of the program, and 96.4% of parents were either “happy” or “very happy” with their results. These results constitute aggregate data from parents with children in all of our schools.

Troubled teens stay for about 12-16 months at most of the selected schools. Some of the schools have a 3 month trial program, but most students need a significant period of time to complete the change process and fully internalize new skills, attitudes, and behaviors. The youth can also earn their high school diploma while attending the school which is sometimes rare among other boarding schools. All the schools operate on an open enrollment policy which means students can start attending a school at any given time. Enrollment in the troubled teen programs is also very quick, most students can be enrolled within 48 hours for those who are experiencing an immediate family crisis.

A traditional day at one of the selected boarding schools is full of activities to assist students in becoming more socially accepted and family-friendly. Students arise early and get ready for the day. The eat breakfast, do a chore and then go to school. Once the academic day is over, students attend their daily character-building workshop. They also have a group meeting each day where they evaluate themselves in several important areas of performance and receive staff ratings and feedback also. In the late afternoon and evening, students may have structured free time, play on-campus games and sports, read, journal, socialize, do homework, etc. In addition to on-camps activities, there are also a variety of off-campus activities that may be attended by students who have earned it. In the late evening, students prepare for and go to bed.

Parents are welcome to take a tour of the boarding schools and Teen Revitalization counselors can assist in setting up the meeting. Parents have an opportunity to meet staff and youth of the programs. Parents are also encouraged to contact previous clients to get a first-hand account of the success the boarding schools boast of.

Teen Revitalization also requires that all selected boarding schools integrate the family of the students into the treatment program. This is one factor that has greatly attributed to the success of the boarding schools that Teen Revitalization represents.

Parents who go through Teen Revitalization also receive an assurance that very few troubled teen programs offer: a warranty program. They are so confident in the ability of the represented programs that they offer a warranty that is one-of-a-kind in our industry. If the parent’s child meets the criteria for graduation from one of the programs and for some reason returns to old negative patterns before they turn 18, they will re-enroll them at the school they graduated from for up to 60 days at no extra charge.
