Does anyone know of a forum like this for former Daytop residents? I have been searching the web for information about abusive treatment at Daytop and I can't find anything. This amazes me. During the late 80's-early 90's, I was in and out of this TC. I experienced and witnessed horrendous abuse at the hands of staff members. I don't know why Daytop isn't exposed and other former residents aren't speaking out. Any help in finding info will be greatly appreciated.

No, I'm not aware of any current forums about Daytop.  But I do know that Daytop is a spin-off of the Synanon cult and it doesnt' suprise me that it was just as abusive as the rest of these "therapeutic communities"  Maybe fornits would let you start a daytop forum here.  Fornits.com

Oh yea, the Fornits would be please to host a forum for you!

I'm not surprised that there hasn't been any organization against Daytop. Until recently, there wasn't any cohesive organization against Straight, either. It's probably the same for you as it has been for us; I'm doing my best to forget it; I don't want to risk retribution and who'd believe it anyway?

Just register a username so I can make you moderator. (you don't actually have to do anything like moderate the discussion, but it will make you the contact person for any questions that arise) Then let me know what you want to call the forum and what introductory text you want (example: "Straight, Inc Survivors" is the title of this forum and "Welcome Survivors of Straight, Inc. and surviors of all coercive, abusive 'therapy', especially abusive adolescent therapy; a growing travesty in today's society." is the description.
