(1/2) > >>

FunkyChild:
i talked to deborah and she said that she was unaware of counselors making recomendations and that the topic has not been discussed. note, some of the pm's have been editied.

the counselors did persuede (sp?) my mom keep me there, even though i was 18 at the time. either that or live on the street.

deb:
i have heard that about other programs, but not HLA. maybe something you could share on the forum. i don't think we've ever discussed that.

the post grad had there own peer group, but then they started putting them into newer peer groups, so we could be leaders!! haha, but really i said very little in the sessions and the counselors, who i had been there as long as thier new kids were lecturing me on leadership and what to do with my life besides music and crap like that. my excuse, "i'm a piscies, and we don't lead well!" and ALL the kids in that peer group were recommended for post grad.

deb:
Wow! that would be a good one to tell too. how can all the kids, or even most, need to stay post-grad. smells like a money scam to me.

. dark times....but now i'm over it and am progressing.

soooo:
was anybody around as a post grad when they had there own group? i was around for that, but wasn't a post grad then. i know tons of students that recieved recommendations for post grad, but are there any here? when i became post-grad, they put me in a newer PG

RobertBruce:
They had it during my time but very few people actually enrolled in it. I guess they just didnt have competent con men on staff at the time.

hello...i was in pg 56. every single one of my graduating peer group members that still had high school time left were reccomended for postgrad...with the exeption of one, who had a permanent shit stain on his nose if ya catch my drift. your fate really depended on how sold your parents were on the program. at least 50% of each peer group had post grad reccomendations, but i think usually only one or two kids stayed per pg. selection seems to be more based on demographic than actuall theraputic progress. the younger kids, the ones who's parents will definitely say yes, and kids with rich families almost always get reccomended. kids graduating in may ususally stayed for just the summer till the start of the school year, but some actually stay for a long long long time after grad.

i must mention someone's name, but it is to honor them and the time they spent at hla.  Steven Gioa spent (i belive) 40+ months at hla, a cruel and inhuman punishment. He was already postgrad when i got there, and i think he was there for another year and a half after i graduated.

FunkyChild:
yup i remember him, and got along with him well. i was in 66. he always had some of the best advice when i was a stupid new kid....
