Has Mark Sudweeks Applied to Re-0pen Whitmore as B&B?
« on: December 28, 2006, 08:11:53 PM »
Has Mark Sudweeks applied to the City Manager of Nephi, Utah to re-open the Whitmore "Mansion" as a Bed and Breadkfast?

Is this a way for the Suds to work "together" in the little city of Nephi, since Cheryl Sudweeks has been banned from working with children in Juab County as part of her "plea agreement" with the County Prosecutor, Jared Eldridge?

Think the Suds have "learned their lessons" and might be able to pass a health inspection, in their endeavors to run this B&B--which was a problem when they were running the Whitmore Academy?

Wonder if the Whitmore Mansion is "up to code" for such a business venture?

Surely the Suds will have every little thing in order, right?

If the Suds to open the "Whitmore B&B" do you think they will welcome us PARENTS OF FORMER STUDENTS as guests?

Maybe we PARENTS could get a first-hand-experience of how things are run by these fine folks at the "ole Whitmore Mansion!"

Wonder if the Suds will enforce those 2 minute timed-showers at the B&B?

WHAT TOWELS?
Guest better bring their own, don't you think?

Gee, wonder what the going rate is for a weekend at the Whitmore?  I mean, doesn't everybody want to go to Nephi for a little R&R?

Yeah, don't steal the towels.  Better to take the Book of Mormon. Heck, LDS missionaries gives those away, so I don't think it would be considered theft but ya never know.  The folks in UTAH seem to have their priorities backwards.  It's kids safety and well-being - not programs - who come first ... so maybe it would be a good idea to ask before taking the BOM.

Does Sue Scheff list "Travel Agent" among her many jobs?
There just might be the possiblity of keeping the "referral" business going here at the Whitmore, huh?
Could that be possible?
Just asking.

Sound like Cheryl is ready to put Markie Boy to work!
Don't believe he can generate the any where near the income running a B&B that the Suds were raking in running a "teen help facility."

Housing about 40 helpless kids was bringing the Suds in about $5,200   A DAY!
Nephi, Utah has 3 lovely lodging establishment, already:
 Best Western charges   $64.35
 Safari charges               $38.00
Super 8 Motel charges  $60.00 and this includes "free breakfast"

How many GUESTS can Markie Boy expect to house and feed on a given day in the "mansion?"   It's not like the Suds can pack-them-in- like in the good old Whitmore Academy days.

And, of course, NO KIDS ALLOWED if Miss Cheryl is working there---remember, Cheryl can't work around kiddos in Juab County!

And what exactly will these GUESTS be doing in this tiny town of Nephi?  Visiting the Public Library?

$5k a day? That's a chunk of change in anyone's book.  Wonder how much the Sudweeks paid for referrals?  It would be interesting to see how that whole side of the industry works.  Did parents have to pay a one-time-only fee for administrative costs, etc like other schools charge?  Also be curious to know what their operating costs were per child/per day to get a feel for their profit margin.

We paid a $1,000 "Administrative Fee" upfront.  Never did understand what this "Fee" was for.

We were told that Sue Scheff /Pure---who referred most of the students to Whitmore was paid a referral fee of 10% of the yearly fee for each student placed.

Goodness knows what the Sudweeks "profit margin" was.
Read the threads---the kids describe the food (or lack thereof)....so not a whole lot was spent on food.

Read the threads---not a whole bunch of education going on either; or the promised therapy.

The Suds may have had a BIG "profit margin"
You'd have to ask them

OR, maybe it will all be revealed in the civil case that's pending, huh?

What about uniforms, school supplies and incidentals like field trips?  Were those costs included in the monthly tuition?
