Code Required for Anon Posts
Anonymous:
Please fix the code thing required for anon posts. I just attempted to post a message and it took 6 times. I may have made one error, but I sure as fuck didn't make 6.
I understand the need for this, but if we're going to have it, it should work correctly. If I were a new person I may have given up after the second or third attempt.

Yes you did.
The code takes a sequence of letters and makes an image out of them. The images that are made are from the letters in the system. For an error to happen as you describe it, it would be the same as if you typed an I in the textbox and it came out a J in your post. Not happening.
Some of the fonts look a bit weird so you might think that a letter is something other than what it actually is. No, we're not changing it.

I didn't say change it. I asked for it to be "fixed" and gave a rational reason. I typed 6 codes in before it worked. There is obviously a problem. What's the argument for the letters/numbers looking "weird"? Is that necessary to foil spammers?
I'm not an idiot and I don't have problems with vision. If the images are so weird that I indeed made 6 errors, that's a problem. May not be one you're interested in changing, but it is a problem none the less.
And no, I'm apparently not the only person this has happened to. I read another complaint somewhere last night. Just blew it off thinking it was a troll. Then it happened to me.
It doesn't appear to be a user friendly system. Can't the images just be normal. I've seen both on different websites and don't understand the need for the weird ones.
Thanks

Sigh.
I have other things I need to do. When I get back in an hour or so I'll find out which font is causing so many problems for people. Might even adjust the code a bit to take out some of the letters and numbers that people can get confused on.
But yes, it does need to look weird to foil spammers, it just needs to be both weird and human-readable.

I just got rid of one of the more annoying fonts used in CAPTCHA and also took a lot of potentially confusing letters out. If you want to try it yourself, there's a CAPTCHA testing thread, have at it.
