The sweat tent concept is some Indian culture thing, I think its suppose to cleanse ones body or something. It was an option to anyone who wanted to go inside it. Basically we call it a suana.
But the thought of sitting inside that steamy hot small tent in my underware with Kruglik did not fly with me. I think Marty liked seeing teens in their underware, that is what is so funny about it. It didnt really go on for too long, maybe a few months at most then it was taken down and never seeen again. Not sure of the reasons why it was stopped, maybe because of lack of interest from residents or Elan one's powers that be saw it as a hazard, not really sure.
Kruglik was very big and proud of being an Indian and let it be known as he would talk about the culture quite often, in house meetings, groups, ect. I guess he saw it as a healing tool or something and had this crazy idea that it would help the residents is some sort of magical way.
Kruglik was Mr. Injun when I was there, he wore this old spear head on a leather strap around his neck and brought native american trickents in with him to Elan. It was all nonsense to me, but he seldomly spoke of great spirits that would heal the mind and body and protect one from evil ect. This is where all the hi yuh yuh's come from and all the goofing about it.

I was in Elan when Marty was in treatment. And I still wore fucked up signs and costumes. Marty has nothing to do with this thread and Marty has very little to do with the Elan subject as a whole.
