James Traub and Hyde School

Yesterday I heard James Traub interviewed on National Public Radio about his new book on Kofi Annan and the United Nations.  This was the first time I had heard Traub interviewed.  He was very impressive.  Traub is a contributing writer to the New York Times Magazine and author of many books. Traub is also the author of a major article on the Hyde School.  Traub is very critical of many Hyde features.  I think his article is worth reading:  http://www.hoover.org/publications/ednext/3251926.html

Not surprisingly, Malcolm Gauld wasn't happy with Traub's critique.  Here's Gauld's response:  http://www.hoover.org/publications/ednext/3228261.html

I think Traub has Hyde's number.  I think Gauld defends a very troubled enterprise.

I read this article about Hyde and was VERY impressed.  This author seems to have his finger on Hyde's pulse.  I'm not surprised Malcolm G. was exercised about the article.
