If you didn't have the money to send your kid to a program, what would you have done?

pray more
watch a life get ruined by ever increasing intake of variety of mind-altering substances
put locks on everything of value in the house - lest it too get stolen
hope not to have to attend offspring's funeral

all this would have been after all tries at counseling, including parent involvement, therapy, alternative schools, and a long list of other things didn't stop the downward spiral

oh yeah, I read the advice about "being a parent".  sometimes all that gets you is a right to ride the bus if you pay the fare

So you are saying if you didn't have an extra 3-5 grand a month, you would have completely failed as a parent? Really? That's pretty sad.

That's it? Pray more? Put locks on stuff and hope? Why not take a proactive approach, what is is that the program offers that you cannot? This is a pretty sad list of things to try, maybe you are just a troll.

Have you ever met a program employee who sends their kid to a program, or how about a program owner who sends their kid to their own program?

Started building a coffin, because without the program my kid would be dead. Or in jail.

Yeah. Virtually all of the Straight execs were program parents and I've seen Straight vets say they'd do it "if they had to".

Religious zealotry is the trouble here. These sadistic lunatics actually believe they're saving the world. That's what makes them dangerous.

Jail would have been better. At least he/she would have learned something.
