An estimated 15% of Hidden Lake Academy students have been diagnosed with a learning disorder and have an Individual Education Plan in place. We provide additional academic achievement testing for all of our students and a comprehensive academic plan is developed for each student and reviewed by the teachers and specialists in the Learning Center.

I think Marla mentioned this in her original post. I can tell you I was never tested or evaluated for anything, I'm not aware of any of my fellow inmates being tested at the time either.

If this indeed is the case, then why wouldn't parents be involved in this comprehensive academic plan?

Parents have a nasty habit of asking questions when they have more of the facts. Better to keep 'em in the dark and feed 'em shit, they don't go poking around so much then. They seem happier that way anyway. Why spoil it for them?

Oh you werent aware of the policy in place? They train the staff to treat parents like mushrooms, keep em in the dark and feed them bullshit and everything will be just fine.
