No, I never did think of the nut kicked boy as a victim. He was a big kid, prolly 5'5" at least (Uh, 5"5' ta you, pls help) and he was frightening the little girls and making them cry pretty regularly. Never mind the private sector gulags, they've still only got a very small share of the market. The public sector acculturation centers are bad enough. If my kid had done as the schoolpeople told her to do, she would have reported the incidents to a teacher or counselor or some such. Then the administrators would dole out some punishment, instantly making the whole thing a very public matter. Then the shrinks would arrive on the scene shortly thereafter. They'd trip right over the obvious ramifications of public shaming inflicted, however well intendedly, by the schoolpeople and start asking loaded questions leading up to how and for what the parents might be to blame. No pressure, kid... just tell us everything we want to know...
