Have you considered Fornits goods to support the site?
« on: July 15, 2006, 12:53:28 PM »
It strikes me that there might be money to be made in the form ot t-shirts, mousepads, cups, etc, with various slogans. CafePress and other, similar sites let you make up your own graphics to put on these things.

It just strikes me that several people walking around with "Want to hire goons to send your kid away? Ask me how!" T-shirts could do a whole lot of good.

Thoughts? Slogan ideas? I'll think of some really good ones eventually, but I hope that I'm not the only one who thinks this is a good idea.

The one big problem with this kind of idea is you need money to make money. The items have to be purchased and printed and so on - and it aint cheep.

I do like the idea - and I like Gingers logo - I'd buy a T-Shirt or a Coffie cup - but its getting them made that hang up this kind of plan.

Nope, CafePress lets youstart selling them immediately, for free.

It's the fact that they make the lion's share of the money, and they don't actually MAKE the product until someone orders it, that they do this.

The trouble w/ Cafe Press is that their take is too high. No way you can really make a profit above what they charge. No, E-Bay is, by far and away, better. Their fees are very reasonable and based mostly on sale price. It's also just the hottest thing since blogs and All Your Base right now. So it's got a huge audience.

Nobody is anybody until you get your own bobblehead doll. I think that should be the first thing made if anything is made.
